Task 1
1. In my opinion, the bunker procedure is very important, if the bunker
procedure is not carried out properly, then many detrimental things
may occur, including marine pollution, crew accidents, fraud in fuel
dosage, and many more.
2. oil spills resulting from bunker processes that are not in accordance
with procedures can cause marine pollution
3. The chief engineer is the person who becomes the PIC during the
bunker process
4. Pumping rate starting pressure kept low. Oil flow in selected tank.
Keep checking sounding of filling tank. Oil is going in designated
tank. Increase pumping rate. Overflow risk with multiple tank filling.
90 % of its capacity to be on the safer side. Decrease pumping rate.
Next tank valve opened. Check fuel temperature before taking bunker.
Calculate volume that can be accommodated onboard tanks. Barge or
supplier provide oil temperature. Critical parameter for oil such as
HFO. Shortfall in quantity loss to the company. Drip flange to collect
sample continuously. Opening and closing valves for switching tanks.
No smoking, no naked light, officer in bunker manifold with SOPEP
kit and fire extinguisher.

1. Chief Engineer checked the remaining fuel with sounding
2. After knowing the remaining fuel, the Chief engineer recorded the remaining
fuel
3. Prepared the bunker after the bunker ship arrived and attached to the ship
4. Chief engineer taked a sample of fuel whether it is feasible or not
5.Chief engineer checked the initial meter for filling up on the bunker
6. Fill in according to the amount ordered
7. Chief engineer signs documents related to refueling
