4).Obtain an expression for Sin3X involving powers of SinX.

hence find the value of Sin3X if SinX = 1/4. ( 6marks)

5) Solve the equations

a) sin2X + Cosx = 0 for -180⁰≤X≤ 180⁰

b)3Cos2X + 2 + CosX = 0 for. -180⁰≤X≤ 180⁰

d) Sin2X = tanX for X in [ -180⁰,180⁰]. ( 4 marks each)

6) prove the identities

a) tan2A - 2tan2ASin²A = Sin2A. ( 4marks)

b) tan3A = (3tanA - tan³A) ÷ (1-3tan²A) (6 Marks)

c) cotX = Sin2X ÷ ( 1- Cos2X). (4marks)

7) C and D are both obtuse angles such that SinC = 3/5 and SinD = 5/13 , without using tables
or calculators, find the value of

a) Sin(C +D)

b) Cos(C - D). ( 5 marks each)

8) Solve the equation CosXCos20⁰ +SinXSin20⁰ =0.75 .for values of X from 0⁰ to 360⁰ (5marks )
