Knives out it’s a thriller directed by Rian Johnson.

Although it wasn’t a box-office hit, it has

quite a famous cast. Chris Evans as Ransom, Ana de Armas as Martha and Daniel Craig as
Benoit Blanc are just a few examples of well-known actors and actresses taking part in this
film. Released in 2019, Knives out was nominated for three Golden Globes and even one
Oscar!

The plot takes place in an enormous mansion owned by an old man and inhabited by his
entire family. All his sons and daughters take advantage of his money and one night he
decides to stop being their economic source.The real drama starts when the same night his
personal nurse, Martha, injects him with a toxic substance instead of insulin by mistake.
However, since they are very good friends he makes up a plan to make it look like a suicide
in order to not send Marta to jail. Later, a mysterious family member hires Benoit Blanc, the
greatest detective of all time, and Martha from now on is going to try to hide what actually
happened that night.

It is believed that “Knives Out” is currently the best work of Rian Johnson, described as a
dynamic and easygoing script but with a sarcastic humor that makes it special. The camera
angles and the color tones used add a fluid sensation of movement to the storyline. If by
chance there is one weak point, critics agree and would say that younger actors aren’t on
the same level that professional and experienced actors are.

In my opinion this film is a perfect example of how to keep a whole audience hooked. I
watched it with my family and we couldn’t stop trying to guess who the liar was. If you like
Agatha Christie novels this is definitely the perfect film for you!
