Possessive adjective

Possessive adjectives are used with the aim of expressing the meaning of possession. Although they
are often understood as pronouns, they are not, since they do not replace any noun or nominal
phrase. On the contrary, the function of possessive adjectives is to accompany the noun/noun phrase
that points to possession.

Possessives pronouns
Possessive pronouns are those that, when replacing a noun or nominal phrase, indicate a
sense of possession or property. It is very common among English learners to get confused
when to use possessive pronouns and possessive adjectives. So that there are no more
doubts, we will explore, in the next sections, the use of possessive pronouns and take the
opportunity to compare them with possessive adjectives.
