US, Vietnam warn china on scs

Why is it relevant?

 The United States and Vietnam have warned against the “threat or use of force” in the

desputed South China Sea, days after the latest clash involving Chinese vessels.

 President Joe Biden and Vietnam’s communist party Chief Nguyen Phu Trong said the

competing claims on strategic waterway must be settled under international norms. The

warning is relevant because it highlights the ongoing tensions in the region and potential

for military confrontation between china and other countries with claims in the South

China Sea.

What are the implementations?

 The implementations of the warning is to urge China to settle the competing claims under

international norms and to avoid the use of force.

 For the state, the warning is beneficial because it helps maintain regional stability and

prevent military confrontation that could have negative economic and political

consequences
