Different by Siew Clark

It is crocheted from top to bottom, asymmetrical, rectangle

shawl. An increase was made at every other row which
separated the two stitch patterns. There are options to
make it longer if you desire. You can also make it wider to
fold the top into shawl collar. This pattern will work with any
yarn and colours. Gauge is unimportant.

My gauge: 4 V-sts (12 sts) = 3”

Note: V-st in V-st; I work V-st in ch 1 sp of previous V-st.

Shell cl in ch 2; I work shell cl through ch 2.
Start from Row 7 and alternate rows; V-st in next 2 dc works as V-st in each of 2 dc of previous V-st.

Fsc Foundation single crochet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PY6Iy7gdVEM

First-fsc: ch 2, insert hook into first ch, (yo, pull through one loop) twice, yo, pull through two loops.

Next-fsc: Insert hook into 2 loops at the bottom of the last SC worked, YO and pull through the 2 loops, YO
and pull through 1 loop (creating ch 1), YO and pull through 2 loops (sc made).

Fsc 149 (multiple of 14+1)

Option to use ch 149. Ch 1, sc each ch, then start Row 1.

You can make it wider by doing more Fsc or chains here. Increase fsc or ch by 12 sts; 161, 173, 185 sts.

With extra 12 / 24 / 36 sts, work 4 / 8 / 12 more V-sts.
