Special Stitches
dc2tog = [Yarn over, insert hook in next
stitch or space, yarn over and pull up loop,
yarn over, draw through 2 loops] twice, yarn
over, draw through all loops on hook.
dc3tog = [Yarn over, insert hook in next
stitch or space, yarn over and pull up loop,
yarn over, draw through 2 loops] 3 times,
yarn over, draw through all loops on hook.
fan = (Tr, [ch 1, tr] 5 times) in indicated
space.
Fpdc = Front post double crochet. Yarn
over, insert hook from the front side of the
work to back and to front again around the
post of the indicated stitch on a previous
row; yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops
on hook), yarn over and draw through two
loops (2 loops on hook), yarn over and draw
through two loops (1 loop on hook).
Special Technique
Adjustable-ring method = Wrap yarn in
a ring, ensuring that the tail falls behind
the working yarn. Grip ring and tail firmly
between middle finger and thumb. Insert
hook through center of ring, yarn over (with
working yarn) and draw up a loop. Work
stitches of first round in the ring. Pull gently,
but firmly, on tail to tighten ring after a
couple of rounds have been completed.

COZY
Make an adjustable ring.
Round 1 (right side): Ch 1, 6 sc in ring; join
with slip st in first sc6 sc.
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 hdc in each st around; join
with slip st in first hdc12 hdc.
Round 3: Ch 2 (counts here as first dc), dc
in same st as join, ch 1, 2 dc in next st, *slip
st in next st, (ch 2, dc) in same st, ch 1, 2
dc in next st; repeat from * around; join in
bottom of beginning ch12 dc and 6 ch-1
spaces.
Round 4: Slip st in each ch and dc, slip st in
first ch-1 space, ch 1, (sc, ch 5) in each ch-1
