The Shadow of Hate

In the darkest corners of the soul, it dwells,

A poison that in silence often swells.

A force that tears, that seeks to divide,

A venomous river where compassion cannot abide.

Hate, a bitter and relentless foe,

Its roots in fear, in ignorance it may grow.

It blinds the eyes, and hardens the heart,

A cancerous emotion, tearing worlds apart.

With words like daggers, it wounds and maims,

Fanning the flames of anger's furious flames.

It knows no reason, no empathy or grace,

A destructive power that leaves a bitter trace.

But let us not succumb to hate's embrace,

For it's a path that leads to a desolate space.

In unity and love, we'll find our way,

To a brighter, more compassionate day.

For hate may linger, a shadow in the night,

But love's the beacon, the eternal light.

In understanding, forgiveness, and empathy's grace,

We can overcome hate and find a better place.
