ARMAS-FCV Alarm Check Valve
ARMAS-FCV Alarm Check Valve
Armaş FCV Alarm Check Valves are designed for wet applications without freezing risk.
Pressurized water in installations is discharged by sprinklers activated by fire. Retard chamber is
filled while such a pressurized water system is continuously fed. A pressure alarm switch on the
filled retard chamber is triggered. Alarm status is transmitted to the automation system or fire
warning system by means of such a pressure alarm switch. Water reaches a water motor alarm
gong when the pressure switch is triggered and then a mechanical alarm is given.

• There should not be a risk of freezing to the installations where the valve would
be used, during the entire year.
• The crew responsible for assembling the valve should have been trained in fire
systems.
• Assembly crew should take safety measures and wear helmets, googles, boots
and similar equipment during assembly.
• Armaş FCV Alarm Check Valves consist of a valve body, trim set, retard
chamber, pressure alarm switch and water motor alarm gong.
• Before starting to assemble, check inside valve body for any foreign articles
and if there is, then take them out of the valve body.
• Connect a wet alarm valve vertically to the plumbing, after mounting all the
components.
• The place of installation should be reachable and should allow to read any
writings.
⚠ WARNING
• Before starting to assemble, check inside valve body for any foreign articles and if
there is, then take them out of the valve body.
• Assembly crew should take safety measures and wear helmets, googles, boots and
similar equipment during assembly.
• After installing an alarm check valve, open drain valve (2) and check if the valve is
completely empty.
• Check that Sprinkler line pressure gauge (3) and pump line pressure gauge (4) show
0 (zero) bar, (Both gauges should show 0 (zero).
• After being sure that the indicated butterfly valve or OS&Y gate valve used below the
wet alarm valve is closed, open the valves to fire line and give water to fire line.
• Close alarm line ball valve (5), to prevent continual alarm, before giving water to
sprinkler line.
• Open slowly the indicated butterfly valve or OS&Y gate valve used below the alarm
check valve and full sprinkler line.
• Discharge the air in plumbing between alarm check valve and sprinkler, by means of
auxiliary valves.
• Check Sprinkler line pressure gauge (3) and pump line pressure gauge (4). Sprinkler
line pressure gauge (3) should show a value equal to or higher than the value shown
by pump line pressure gauge (4).
• After installing an alarm check valve to the plumbing, the final positions of the valves
should be as stated in the table below;
Valve Position
Indicated Butterfly Valve/OS&Y Gate Valve Open
Drain Valve (2) Close
Alarm Line Ball Valve (5) Open
Alarm Test Line Ball Valve (6) Close
Sprinkler Line Pressure Gauge Valve (3) Open
Pump Line Pressure Gauge Valve (4) Open
⚠ WARNING
Alarm check valve should never be connected to the
installations which has a risk of freezing during the year. The
ambient temperature of the place where the valve is used
should not go down
The conformity below
of other +4°Cinduring
valves the fire system to the fire
regulations is solely the responsibility of the user.
• Sprinkler line pressure gauge (3) should show a value equal to or higher than pump
line pressure gauge (4).
• Check valve body and trim set for damage and deformation. Such damaged or
deformed parts should be replaced with new ones.
• The ambient temperature of the valve should not go down below +4°C.
• Check drop drain part (10) for continuous and excessive water discharge. Small
amount of intermittent water is not a problem. This shows that the fire line is subject
to a pressure fluctuation.
• The positions of the valves for or concerning the alarm check valve should be as
stated in table below;
Valve Position
Indicated Butterfly Valve/OS&Y Gate Valve Open
Drain Valve (2) Close
Alarm Line Ball Valve (5) Open
Alarm Test Line Ball Valve (6) Close
Sprinkler Line Pressure Gauge Valve (3) Open
Pump Line Pressure Gauge Valve (4) Open
