ICT AND CONVENTIONAL LEARNING MATERIALS TO ENHANCE TEACHING AND LEARNING

We all know that the COVID 19 is a huge challenge to the education system in the Philippines, everyone
is affected by the changes of this pandemic. Family, Workers, Teachers, and students, all of us need to
adjust on what we called new normal. Students and teachers have a vital role during this pandemic,
that’s we should drive teachers and students to change their practices and perspective in what we called
new normal. We need to focus and exercise the use of technology because this is a lifelong learning.

Objectives
At the end of this lesson the students should be able to:

1. Define, technology enhanced teaching lesson exemplars and ICT and conventional learning material to
enhance teaching and learning
2. Analyze the different digital and conventional learning resources, and
3. Apply and select appropriate teaching and learning material in learning process.

ICT is materails utilize technological media in delivering, knowledge and engaging learners throughout
the teaching process

Conventional materials are used by the teachers and the learners for many time already, even before
the advent of technological media.

ICT (Information and Communication Technology) and conventional learning materials can both be used
to enhance teaching and learning in a variety of ways. Here are some ways in which these two
approaches can be combined to create effective learning experiences:

Interactive whiteboards: Interactive whiteboards are a great example of how ICT can enhance
conventional learning materials. Teachers can display textbooks, diagrams, or other learning materials
on the whiteboard and annotate them in real-time. This makes learning more interactive and engaging
for students.

Educational software: Educational software can be used to supplement conventional learning materials,
providing students with interactive, multimedia learning experiences. For example, educational software
can be used to create simulations and visualizations that help students better understand complex
concepts.
Online resources: ICT can also be used to provide students with access to a wealth of online resources
that complement conventional learning materials. Online resources can include videos, podcasts,
interactive activities, and more. Teachers can direct students to these resources to help them deepen
their understanding of a subject.

Flipped classroom approach: The flipped classroom approach is a teaching strategy that combines ICT
and conventional learning materials. In a flipped classroom, students watch pre-recorded lectures or
read materials online before coming to class. During class time, the teacher guides students in applying
what they've learned through activities, discussions, and other interactive exercises.

Mobile devices: Mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones, can be used to provide students with
access to educational materials on-the-go. This allows them to continue learning outside of the
classroom, which can be especially useful for students who may not have access to conventional
learning materials at home.

Overall, combining ICT and conventional learning materials can help to create more engaging, effective,
and accessible learning experiences for students. By leveraging the strengths of both approaches,
teachers can help their students to achieve better learning outcomes.
