Unit 5 Song: Guidelines for parents and guardians

One, one, one,

My purple mum.
Two, two, two,
My cars are blue.
Three, three, three,
My puzzle’s green.
Four, four, four,
Let’s sing some more.

One, two, three, four,

Sing some more.
One, two, three, four,
Sing some more.

Point to the woman in the picture and ask Dad? Your child says No, mum. Ask What
colour? (Purple.) Point to the cars, your child says Cars. Encourage him/her to say
the colour (Blue). Repeat for the puzzle. Play the song. Encourage your child to join
in and point to the people and items in the picture. Give the child purple, blue and
green crayons. Play the song again. He/She colours the things in the picture in the
correct colours. When he/she has finished, point at the woman, the cars and the
puzzle and encourage the child to say the correct phrase, e.g. My purple mum.
