Facts about Dr.

BR Ambedkar
I. Bhim Ramji Ambawadekar was born on 14th April
1891. He was a jurist, politician, and a social
reformer.
II. Being himself a Dalit, He worked hard and brought
equality to India.
III. The Credit of giving place to “Ashoka Chakra” in
the Indian Tricolour also goes to Dr. BR Ambedkar
IV. Revolutionary Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was the
first person who brought “Equal play for equal
work, irrespective of the gender” in India in the
terms of industrial workers as a Labour Minister in
the viceroy executive council.
V. Saviour of labours, brought 8 hours of duty for
labours in India. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar changed
the working time from 12 hours to 8 hours in the
7th session of Indian Labour Conference in New
Delhi, November 27, 1942.which became a light for
workers in India.
VI. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar emphasized on the
significance and need for the “Grid System” which
is still working successfully even today. If today
power engineers are going abroad for training, the
credit goes to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar again, who
as a leader of labour Department formulated the
policy to trained best engineers overseas.
VII. He was fervently against Article 370, which grants
special status for Jammu and Kashmir.
VIII. After returning to India during the independence
movement, in 1936, Ambedkar wrote his magnum
opus ‘Annihilation of Caste’, a fiery critique of the
caste system.
IX. Babasaheb’s personal library “Rajgirh” had more
than 50,000 books and it was said to be the world’s
largest private library.
X. Awards won by BR Ambedkar are: Bodhisattva
(1956), Bharat Ratna (1990), First Colombian
Ahead of Their Time (2004), The Greatest Indian
(2012)
XI. In the London School of Economics, Babasaheb
completed 8 years of studies in just 2 years 3
months. For this, he studied 21 hours a day.
XII. Based on a global survey called "The Makers of the
Universe" a list of top 100 humanist people of the
last 10 thousand years was made by Oxford
University, in which the fourth name was Dr.
Babasaheb Ambedkar.
XIII. The first Statue of Babasaheb was built in the year
1950 when he was alive and this statue is
established in Kolhapur city.
XIV. Babasaheb's statue is one of the tallest statues in
the world. His birth anniversary is also celebrated
all over the world.
XV. Dr. Ambedkar is the only Indian whose statue is
attached to Karl Marx in the London Museum.
