What is it that makes Alicante so special, is it the scenery, the culture, the
atmosphere?

Alicante is well known for being a coastal city, rich in many aspects, such as the climate,
gastronomy, beaches. Its strategic location makes it very accessible for many tourists,
especially people from the UK. According to a INE (National Institute of Statistics), Spain
received 13.7 million international tourists in the first quarter of 2023. This number makes
clear that tourism is one of the most important sectors in our country.

One of the main reasons to consider Alicante as a holiday destination is as stated above, to
try its great variety of Mediterranean plates. Not only it offers food, but also the city is deeply
rooted in history like museums, art galleries, festivals and exhibition spaces. Furthermore,
Alicante also promotes sustainable travel perfect for a weekend break. A must see in
Alicante is Santa Barbara Castle, Altea, Tabarca Island and Alicante Museum of
Contemporary Art.

To my mind, the first impression of a place can prove to be misguided, especially if your
initial reaction is negative, but Alicante will not disappoint you.

To conclude, my own holiday decisions are always based on cost, weather, people, and in
general the environment, that's why I firmly believe that Alicante is a place that offers all of
this and many more. So, take my advice and come to this memorable city.
