Regular Program

Regular The Regular Program is designed for foreigners and overseas


Koreans who are interested in Korea, Korean language,
Program and Korean culture and would like to study Korean for 3
months or more. This course is good for people who wish
to attend college or graduate school in Korea, people who
would like to get a job in Korea, people studying Korean
as a hobby, etc. The majority of students who study at the
Korean Language Institute apply for this program, and every
semester an average of 1,600 students from approximately
60 different countries study Korean in this program.
Students also have the opportunity to meet others from a
variety of different countries and learn about other cultures.

Each semester of the Regular Program is 10 weeks long


and consists of 200 hours. There are four semesters of the
Regular Program each year. The Regular Program consists of
A Course, which is held in the morning, and C Course, which
is held in the afternoon. The Online class(D) course, only for
morning will be provided.

The Regular Program (A, C, D Course) is designed to match


the different levels of the TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in
Korean.). It takes about one year and six months for a
student to begin at Level 1 and complete Level 6.

University Korean Program

University The University Korean Language Program is designed for


foreign students who are either currently enrolled in a
Korean Korean university or are planning on applying to a Korean
Program university. This course aims to cultivate the high level of
Korean ability necessary for studying at a Korean university
by focusing on content related to university life as well
as university courses and lectures. Through this course,
students will be able to acquire the Korean language skills
necessary for preparing to enter a Korean university in a
short period of time.

The University Korean Language Program consists of


six levels: Elementary 1, Elementary 2, Intermediate 1,
Intermediate 2, Advanced 1, and Advanced 2. It is held for
four semesters each year.

▶ If your documents are not in Korean, English, Japanese or Chinese, your documents must
be translated to one of these languages and get notarized by the notary office. Also, please
submit both translated documents and original documents when you apply for the course.
▶ 'Original document' means the actual documents(or notarized documents) issued by the bank,
the office or the embassy. Printed copies are not acceptable.
▶ Chinese students should refer to the KLI homepage or the Chinese leaflet.
▶ Additional documents may be requested to aid the evaluation process. In addition, people
from the 21 countries announced by the Ministry of Justice and the 5 countries strictly
monitored for illegal residency must also obtain a certification from the consulate or an
apostille for the diploma from their most recently attended school, academic transcript, and
proof of family relationship. This should be submitted along with the certificate of bank
balance.

· Textbook fees (approximately 90,000 KRW) are not


included in the tuition.
· When sending money from abroad, bank fees and the
exchange rate could cause a discrepancy between the
amount sent and the amount received. Any bank fees
incurred by the transfer are the student’s responsibility.
Should the payment be insufficient due to exchange
rates, the student must pay the balance to the KLI office
by the deadline.
· Rules for getting a refund : Students who wish to cancel
their enrollment should go to the KLI office and submit
their completed cancellation form.

the Student Visa(D-4-1)
University Students who wish to stay in the dorms must register on
the dormitory website (http://dorm.yonsei.ac.kr) during
