6º semestre.

It all happened on my first and only trip to Mexico. It's not that Mexico is a bad
country, I just had a very unpleasant experience that left me traumatized. I spent the entire
year of 2022 saving money to fulfill my lifelong dream of visiting Guadalajara, Mexico. To
ensure my safety, my best friend agreed to accompany me, even though he doesn't have a
particular interest in the Spanish language or culture.
Everything seemed to be going well initially. I had managed to hire a driver at a
reasonable price to take us on a city tour. He had mentioned that he was not very experienced,
but I wasn't concerned because we had an app that could guide us wherever he needed help.
However, my concerns heightened when we accidentally entered a dangerous area of the city
and the driver seemed lost and scared. Within seconds, unknown individuals started shooting
at our car, causing me to panic. Thankfully, someone shouted from a distance for them to stop
shooting, as we were tourists, not enemies. Unfortunately, the damage had already been done,
and I ended up getting shot in the arm.
I had to stay in the hospital for several weeks, which caused me to miss my return
flight. However, my friends back in Brazil collected money to reschedule my flight and cover
my expenses in Mexico until I recovered. It has been a few months since this traumatic
incident, and I have no desire to travel to Central America anytime soon.
