Overview
Southwest’s Hydraulic Liner Retention (HLR) system was designed to provide a safe and effective
mechanism for liner replacement, along with firmly securing the liner within the module during operation.
Utilizing a threaded flange and housing, our liner retention system is easily installed on new or existing
modules. During operation, an energized Belleville washer generate a compressive force, which holds the
liner securely in place. During liner replacement, the washer force is de-pressurized by using a small
hydraulic foot pump enabling the liner to be removed. Southwest’s HLR system is trusted by numerous
drilling contractors and is available for the following modules:

The actuation pressure for the different models of HLRs varies according to the force required to retain the liner. The
actuation pressures for each model are summarized below. The hydraulic pumps provided with each HLR have relieve
valves that are adjusted at the factory to prevent the operator from exceeding the actuation pressure of the HLR.
