Year 2018, in the heart of Libmanan, Camarines Sur, there exists a local franchise which
offers spaghetti, fried chicken, fries, coke float, pancit, and an array of snacks. Yeebah, as it is
affectionately known, carved a niche on the people of Libmanan. It served as a dating place for
young lovers, a go-to snack house of families, and a meeting place for those group of friends
who wants to catch up while enjoying their snacks. However, Yeebah closed its doors before the
pandemic struck last 2019.

One of many reasons why this franchise business does not succeed is its market
saturation. Some franchises fail because the market becomes oversaturated with similar
businesses, leading to increase competition and decreased profitability. In Libmanan, there are
lots of snack houses that offers similar products with Yeebah. Another one is changing consumer
preferences. Consumer tastes and preferences can change over time, and if a franchise fails to
adapt and innovate, it may lose its customer base. Since Yeebah has a lot of similar offerings
alike to other snack houses, there is a large possibility that they may be left out if they failed to
innovate. Next is strong competitors. Facing stiff competition from other well-established brands
can be challenging for a new franchise. In this case, Jollibee already penetrated the market of
Libmanan. There was a time where the Jollibee truck were placed on Libmanan Cultural Center
which is known as the famous family-favorite fast food, another reason why Yeebah was left out.
High operating costs such as rent, labor, and supplies, can make it challenging for a franchise to
maintain profitability which is also a factor why some business failed to succeed. Nonetheless,
success in the franchise industry depends on a combination of factors, and overcoming
challenges requires careful planning, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering value to
customers.
