NARRATIVE REPORT
BRIGADA ESKWELA 2021
Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Balik Eskwela, the annual activities of DepEd to prepare
opening of classes which started on August 3- September 30, 2021, under the joint theme
“Bayanihan para sa Paaralan”.

San Gregorio Annex Elementary School, with the leadership of our Officer-in- Charge Mrs
Maria Elaine D. Resurreccion has initiated the implementation of the new normal in this year’s
Brigada Eskwela 2021 together with the collaborative efforts of the of the Brigada Coordinator and
Technical working committee.

The joint Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Balik Eskwela virtual kick-off program was launched
via Facebook livestream with the theme “Bayanihan para sa Paaralan” on September 3, 2021.
Brigada Eskwela kick-off hosted by Miss Glydel B. Marasigan. Brigada coordinator gave his
welcome address and another message from our OIC Mrs Maria Elaine D. Resurreccion. Dr.
Agrifina A. Dirain our PSDS also gave her message and support about the implementation of
Brigada Eskwela 2021, followed by the presentation of some pictures taken during the cleaning of
school premises with the help of parents and other stakeholders.

In response to the Hamon: Bawat Bata Bumabasa (3Bs initiatives) issued through DepEd
Memorandum No. 173,s.2019. As part of a reading program, San Gregorio Annex Elementary
School created School Book Pantry which aims to encourage more learners to read and share any
available resources. Teacher’s also prepared reading materials for every learners, given every
Friday of the week. Our school also conducted BRIGADA PAGBASA through Mobile Reading
Pantry which will go around to reach every learner. In line with this the Home Learning Spaces are
highly recommended to be provided for our learners. This aim to engage parents and partners to
assist schools in promoting and stablishing economical creative and functional learning spaces at
home to foster academic ease. Home learning spaces can help develop learners creatively,
sharpen their focus, and increase their motivation to read and learn.

Brigada Eskwela will not be successful without the help of supportive parents, teachers and

DISTRIBUTION AND RETRIEVAL PLAN

As mandated, SLMs or self-Learning Modules that come from the Division Office will be
reproduced by the school. Prior to the schedule of the first distribution of the modules, the school
head with the help of the teachers has already sorted out the addresses of learners per grade
level to ensure that modules will be handed out to learners systematically in each designated
rooms/area. Procurement of big boxes where modules will be placed for distribution and retrieval
was made, and there is already an established delegation of tasks for the school personnel as
soon as the school year opens. Communications such as letters to all barangays will be sent to
ask formally their support for this undertaking. Instructions to parents by grade level have been
made ready in a manner which will be easily understood even by those who have inadequate
education. And since everyone must observe the IARF standard, proper scheduling of distribution
and other things that must be done will be informed to parents in the easiest possible ways. It can
be thru their created group chats (GCs), it can be in the form of social media postings or thru text
messaging since teachers have all the learner’s information.

There will be a same day schedule of distribution and retrieval except for the first
distribution which will be done in a first day of classes September 13. While on the process of the
home-based education, teachers must open the line of communication 24/7 so that learners and
parents who assist their children in studying can ask anytime about their concerns.

For learners without available learning facilitators at home, subject teachers or a cluster
learning facilitator may conduct home visits following social distancing protocols or they may
communicate through text messages, phone/live chats, through other available forms of
communication to provide assistance or remediation, since this will be done in a weekly basis, as
soon as the week is finished, it is expected that everything in the module is accomplished
successfully. This time, parents will again return the modules together with all its corresponding
worksheets, activity sheets, performance tasks, assignments placed in an enveloped which serve
as the learners’ portfolio for checking while taking another set of modules for the following week.
Grade chairman will do the receiving or retrieval of the answered worksheets to be sorted out and
be given to the teachers concerned for checking.

These checked worksheets, assignments and others will be made ready for distribution together
with the next set of modules. Then the process continues, and same activities will be repeated
until the Department of Education has given the go for a change of learning modality.
