Installing SRHC VPN Client For Windows 7

1. Download the software from the link provided and save to My Documents or Desktop to
be able to locate later. DO NOT RUN YET If you already have the package simply note the
location to use at Step 5.

2. Disable User Account Control

It works by prompting you for permission when a task requires administrative rights, such as installing
software or changing settings that affect other users.

We don't recommend turning User Account Control off. If you do turn it off, you should turn it back on as soon
as possible.

2.1 Open User Accounts by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking User
Accounts and Family Safety (or clicking User Accounts, if you are connected to a network
domain), and then clicking User Accounts.

2.2 Click Turn User Account Control on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator
password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2.3 Select the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box to turn
on UAC, or clear the check box to turn off UAC, and then click OK.

3. Disable Windows Firewall

3.1 Open Windows Firewall by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel,
clicking Security, and then clicking Windows Firewall.

3.2 Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password
or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

3.3 Click Off (not recommended), and then click OK.

4. Disable Antivirus
You will have to figure out what Antivirus you are running and disable it. If you have trouble disabling it
check the internet for a tutorial or “how-to” on how to disable the Antivirus you have.

5. You are now ready to install the VPN Client by double clicking on the file you
downloaded in Step 1. Once the setup has been completed, restart your machine.

6. Log onto to VPN to test

7. Once connected to the VPN please disable Always Connect.
7.1 Right click on VPN icon in the taskbar (Looks like a padlock) and click VPN Options

7.2 Make sure you have SRHC site selected and click on Properties

7.3 You will be brought to another dialog box, please click on Settings.
 7.4 Please ensure that the box for “Enable Always-Connect” is UNCHECKED.

INSTALLATION NOTES:

If you receive a prompt indicating that the site’s security certificate is not trusted, acknowledge
the prompt by click ‘Trust and Continue’.
