Abbreviations:
ch – chain stitch
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
trc – treble crochet
sl st – slip stitch
inc – increase, 2 sc in the next sc
dec – decrease, single crochet 2 stitches together
(16) – number of stitches in a round
(inc, sc)*N – repeat N times
BLO – back loop only
FLO – front loop only
3dcCL - a cluster of 3 double stitches:
A cluster of stitches, made into the same stitch or chain
space that are joined together at the top:
1. Yarn over, insert hook into stitch and pull up a loop.
Yarn over, pull through two. (This is essentially
completing the first half of one double crochet stitch.)
2. Repeat number one in the same stitch/space until you
have a total of 4 loops on your hook.
3. Yarn over, pull through all 4 loops at once.
Finish the round in an invisible way:

Thread the end of yarn through the needle, skip one stitch
and guide the yarn into the next stitch as shown on the
photo.
Insert the needle back in the same stitch where the yarn
end is coming from. Pull the yarn and fasten the obtained
stitch on the wrong side of detail.
Tree Gnome.
Materials needed:
1. YarnArt Jeans, 55% cotton, 45% acryl, 50g/160m
(weight 2 Fine yarn, 1,76 oz/174 yds), next colors:
• green № 63
• yellow № 35
• pink № 59
• turquoise № 76
• nude № 05
2. Crochet hook 2 mm or 2.25 mm (US: B, UK:14)
3. Fiberfill, thick sewing needle, pins.
4. Piece of cardboard 3 on 3 inch for gnome’s base.
5. Some semi wool yarn any thickness for beard.
If you follow this advice your gnomes will be 23 cm/8 inch.
1.Body
With green yarn.
Start with making a round base. Work in continuous rounds
without slip stitches.

Cut off the yarn.
Connect green yarn to the free front

loops of of 23, 27, 31-th rounds and crochet 3 sc in each
stitch around.
Cut off the yarn, hide the tail.
Star.
With yellow yarn.
Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
Rnd 3: (inc, 1 sc)*6 (18)
Rnd 4: (inc, 2 sc)*6 (24)
Rnd 5: inc, marker in this stitch.
Start to crochet first star ray:

Rnd 1: 5 sc, turn (5)
Rnd 2: ch 1, dec, 3 sc, turn (4)
Rnd 5: ch 1, dec (1)
Cut off the yarn, hide the tail.
Connect yarn to the 6-th stitch of 5-th round and repeat
Rnd 1-5 for the star ray.
Make 2 stars.
Begin attaching the stars together by
inserting your hook through both stars.
Single crochet around the outside edge of
star in yellow. Make increases on the
ray’s ends. At the distance between the
last rays stitch through front pieces
only.
Cut off the yarn, hide the tail. Put the star on the hat.
Mini balls (make 6).
With pink and turquoise yarns.
Work in continuous rounds without slip
stitches.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR
Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
Rnd 3: 12 sc
Rnd 4: 6 dec (6)
Cut off the yarn, leave a long tail. Add
some fiberfill.
Close the top using a needle, sew to the hat.
3.Arms
Start with yellow yarn.
Rnd 1: 8 sc in the MR, go on in rounds without sl st.

Connect green yarn:
Rnd 6: BLO 10 sc
Rnd 7-11: sc in each stitch around 5 rounds.
Stuff the bottom part of the arm (hand) with fiberfill.
Don’t stuff the top part of the arm so they don't stick
out. Fold so that the stitches of the last round line
each other. Crochet the opposite stitches with 4-5 sc.
Cut off the yarn, leave a long tail for sewing.
4.Nose
With nude yarn.
Rnd 1: 7 sc in the MR, go on in
continuous rounds without sl st.

5.Assembly and decoration
For beard tie a pieces of yarn to the free 10 loops of 21
round. Use pet brush.
Attach the arms, and nose to the body with some pins to
the free loops of 21th round.
Put on the hat. The top of arms and nose should be placed
under the hat. Move them the way you like.
Take off the hat, sew the arms and nose to the body.
Put on the hat and attach it with simple stitches in 2-3
places.
