KISI - KISI PTS BAHASA INGGRIS

1. Personal letter

 Definition : Type of letter (or informal competition) that usually concerns


personal matters and is sent to someone you know.

 Purpose : To convey personal opinion or interest.

 Social Function :
 Menyampaikan informasi
 Menceritakan pengalaman
 Meminta maaf dan lain - lain

 Structure

1) Heading, terdiri atas :


 Date ( Tanggal), waktu surat di tulis
 Address (Alamat), alamat asal pengirim

2) Greeting atau salutation, salam pembuka. Contoh :


 “Dear…”
 “Dearest…”,
 “Sweetheart”
 “Darling’
 “My Love”

3) Body, terdiri atas :


 Introduction (Pembukaan), balasan surat sebelumnya atau awal
perkenalan diri
 Content (Isi Surat), isi atau inti dari surat
 Closure (Penutup), surat akan segera berakhir

4) Closing atau Complimentary Close (Salam Penutup), ungkapan penutup


pendek. Contoh :
 “With Love”
 “Sincerely Yours”
 “Lots of Love”

5) Signature (Tanda Tangan), berada di bawah complimentary close, tanda


tangan atau hanya inisial nama saja.

 Language Features
 Sentence Structure
 Accuracy of grammar may be more important than an email. Most of the
time, complete sentence are expected
 Style
 Language use may be personal. For example, first and second person
pronouns may be frequently used. May not be as formal as official letter
writing.
 Allowed to use contractions
 Example : he’s, she’s, haven’t, they’re
 Alto ugh the tone of your letter is informal, please take note
 Do not use offensive language
 Use gramatically correct sentences

 Someone you communate with sending letter regularly
2) Fan mail
 Write to a famous actor, rock star, or sports hero
3) Love
 To someone whom you love or care about. In this letter, you express
feelings of affection and romance
4) Farewell
 Say goodbye and good luck to someone who is moving interstate or
overseas, or changing schools
5) Get well
 To wish someone a speedy recovery from illness
6) Condolence
 Show sympathy, usually for the lose of someone close the recipient
7) Congratulations
 To congratulate someone on a birth, wedding, achievement, or award
8) Thank you
 To showing your appreciation to someone
9) Holiday or celebration
 Celebrate a birthday, Eid ul Fitr, Christmas, New Year, or any other special
event or holiday
