A valid work permit shall be obtained from Air Products and
notification has been forwarded prior to job start.
Vehicles carrying the sources shall be stored and secured in a
metal box that is fix to the carrier and a warning sign should
be posted visibly noting “DANGER” RADIATION.
Only qualified and experienced NDT Technician shall be
doing such specific job and a Radiation Protection Supervisor
(RPS) shall be always available and monitoring the
radiography will in progress. A notification and coordination
to other or neighboring contractor is to be made in order to let
them aware of the activities especially if the task were near in
their area.
Prior to commencement on radiography, ensure that the
entire area has been barricaded and radiation warnings
posters shall be locate visibly as well as blinker lights will be
provided.
Ensure that the technicians have the radiation survey meter.
Cal meter shall be available and it has to use in areas where it
required. Source decay table chart shall be made available to
determine the accurate current source strength.
A technician or watchman is to standby in nearby barricaded
area to ensure no one can enter except for the qualified
technician and the Radiation Protection Supervisor.
Adequate lighting shall be provided into entire work area.
All access and egress shall be cleared with unwanted tools and
materials that are to cause trip, slip and fall hazards. Wear
appropriate personal protective equipment at all time i.e.
helmet, safety glasses (clear or dark), steel toed safety shoes
 or boots. Full-body harness may require and shall be worn.
