The Personal & Social Skills qualifications
support the learner’s personal development in
his/her skills, and understanding needed to
succeed in life, study and work. They will help
develop attitudes valued by employers.
This qualification allows the learner to select
from a wide range of topics / skills, and choose
the units which are most appropriate to meet
their needs and support their progression.
Key features
The Personal & Social Skills qualifications have
been designed with maximum flexibility in mind
so they can meet all learner requirements.
These qualifications are available from Entry 2 to
Level 2. A learner can achieve some units and
claim the smaller Introductory Award, Award,
Extended Award or continue and claim the
Certificate/ Extended Certificate.

This qualification is for learners on programmes
which support a wider range of skills to help
them prepare and succeed with independent
living, study and work, developing the skills
required to be lead a successful part of the
community. Learners may also be transferring
to a different type of workplace and lack
confidence or need to refresh unused skills or
