We are wrapping up this day in Poltava. Quite a long and emotional day.

In the morning I was in the Donetsk region, in our Avdiivka. It is hard to see what Russian terrorists
have done to this city…

And honor to each of our warriors, to all Ukrainian men and women, who have been restraining and
gradually destroying this Russian evil for 419 days and 9 years already.

I had the honor to congratulate Ukrainian soldiers and officers on Easter, to present awards. I often
thank them in my evening addresses for their accuracy and bravery, for destroying the occupiers.

The 55th separate artillery brigade, marines of the 35th and 36th separate brigades, paratroopers
of the 79th separate brigade, warriors of the 110th separate mechanized brigade... The 501st
separate marine battalion... Bohdan Khmelnytsky separate presidential brigade... Thank you all for
your service! And thank you all for the chevrons you gave me today, it's truly an honor. Thanks
guys!
 I especially want to thank our medical forces, all the doctors and nurses who bring our defenders back
to life after wounds. I visited hospitals both in the Donetsk region and here in Poltava. I am proud of our
people, strong even when they are still recovering. Honor and respect to all who heal our soldiers!

I held a long, meaningful meeting in Poltava regarding the situation in the region. The military leadership,
local authorities... The first priority is security and social issues, security for educational institutions,
reconstruction, support for displaced persons.

There are solutions for the restoration of the energy sector - generation and networks. There are
various assignments of the working level - what we should support the Poltava region with. And we will
definitely do it.

It is important that we do not lose a single day in communication with our partners. And it was from
here, from Poltava, that I had a conversation with Speaker of the House of Representatives of the U.S.
Congress Kevin McCarthy. I thanked for the unflagging bipartisan support. Right after a trip to the
frontline, I briefed Mr. McCarthy on what is happening now at the front, on our defense needs and
capabilities. I raised the issue of F-16, long-range weapons, additional artillery and the tribunal - the
tribunal regarding russia's aggression against our country.

to various language means of address, for example:

Vocabulary: officialese, professional terminology
Terms(on particular topic): there is mostly military terminology, such as:
terrorist, warrior, soldier, officer, artillery etc.
And also we have some terms from political life:
bipartisan, congress, authorities.
And from the medicine sphere:
hospital, medical forces, doctor, nurse.
Purpose of the speech: to inform, to report on the day - first of all, to thank the people for their bravery and
courage. Secondly, to inform people about the events of a certain day. Highlight the courage and
indomitability of the Ukrainian people
Structure: as we can see, the president's speech has its own structure. At the beginning, it is a greeting, then
the main body consists of reporting displays. That is, each paragraph contains both reporting and gratitude.
Each of the paragraphs has its own idea, but all of them are connected. And at the end, the speech has a
small conclusion and a logical finale. So, as we can see, the speech has a good, clear, and definite structure.

Завершуємо цей день у Полтаві. Доволі довгий день та емоційний.

Вранці був на Донеччині, у нашій Авдіївці. Важко бачити те, що російські терористи зробили з
цим містом…

І шана кожному нашому воїну, усім українцям і українкам, які вже 419 днів і девʼять років
стримують і поступово знищують це російське зло.

Мав честь привітати українських солдатів та офіцерів із Великоднем, вручити нагороди. Я

часто у вечірніх зверненнях дякую саме їм за влучність і хоробрість, за знищення окупантів.

55-та окрема артилерійська бригада, морпіхи 35-ї й 36-ї окремих бригад, десантники 79-ї
окремої бригади, воїни 110-ї окремої механізованої бригади… 501-й окремий батальйон
морської піхоти… Окрема президентська бригада імені Богдана Хмельницького… Дякую всім
вам за службу! І дякую вам всім за шеврони, які ви мені дали сьогодні, це справді почесно.
Дякую, хлопці!
Особливо хочу подякувати нашим Медичним силам, усім лікарям, медичним сестрам і братам, які
повертають наших захисників і захисниць до життя після поранень. І на Донеччині, і тут, у
Полтаві, відвідав шпиталі. Гордість за наших людей, сильних навіть тоді, коли вони ще
відновлюють свої сили. Честь і шана всім, хто лікує наших воїнів!

Провів у Полтаві тривалу, змістовну нараду щодо ситуації в регіоні. Військове керівництво,
місцева влада… Першочергово – безпекові та соціальні питання, безпека для закладів освіти,
відбудова, забезпечення переселенців.

Є рішення щодо відновлення енергетики – генерації та мереж. Є різні доручення робочого рівня –
те, чим маємо підтримати Полтавщину. І обов’язково це зробимо.

Важливо, що жодного дня не втрачаємо у спілкуванні з нашими партнерами. І саме звідси, з

Полтави, провів розмову зі спікером Палати представників Конгресу США Кевіном Маккарті.
Подякував за незмінну двопартійну підтримку. Щойно після поїздки на передову поінформував
пана Маккарті про те, що відбувається зараз на фронті, про наші оборонні потреби й можливості.
Порушив питання F-16, далекобійної зброї, додаткової артилерії й трибуналу – трибуналу щодо
агресії росії проти нашої держави.
