    Mount Rushmore

    Is a model of four past United States presidents


    George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore
    Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. This monument is
    in South Dakota. Mount Rushmore was made to
    bring more visitors to South Dakota. Almost three million people visit Mount Rushmore
    every year!

    It was made by Sculptor Gutzon Borglum that started 1927 and finished in 1941 .the first
    idea was to built Needles but Gutzon Borglum rejected the idea and the second idea was
    to built American West heroes like Lewis and Clark, Red Cloud, and Buffalo Bill Cody,
    but Borglum decided the sculpture should have broader appeal and chose the four
    presidents.
