Circumstantial events for your digest:

1. The Philippine government is trying to place the country in a state of herd immunity as
several measures aside from health protocols are in the plate. The IATF pronounced that the rolling
out will be according to their determination i.e. health workers, senior citizens and frontliners. Such
are specifically listed down . However, most of the seniors will not in any way agree to be vaccinated,
according to survey, for varied reasons they come across in conversation, interaction and even in the
social and mainstream media. The vaccines in terms of allocation have not been sufficient, wherein
some have not been sufficient, wherein some have not received yet their second dose, if the vaccine
requires so.

Q: How shall claim to human rights be managed in this situation? Illustrate.

In such cases, medical exemptions should be considered, as religious views or freedom of conscience are
seldom protected under human rights law. Policies requiring compulsory vaccination, however, should
be carefully crafted, as there is no reason to conclude that they are inherently incompatible with human
rights legislation. On the other hand, the state and other stakeholders should engage these groups
constructively via community-led education or postponed start dates. Furthermore, groups that are
wary about vaccination requirements, such as people who have been exposed to state-sponsored
persecution may be reasonable to exempt.

2. Using Amnesty Org., U.K. press as a reference, Qatar workers ticked into detention then expelled
during covid19 pandemic. Hundreds of migrant workers were rounded and detained by police for
tested for covid19 but not true. Inside, they were cramped in the cell, without their personal
belonging. Alongside with the story, the purpose of which is to expel out of the country. All inhumane
conditions experienced by migrant , Amnesty International calls on Qatar authorities to ensure
protection of the workers and allow the latter to challenge them of the workers’conditions.

Q: How will solidarity/communal rights apply as a category of human rights. Specify.

Under the conditions, migrants were discriminated against and denied due process to demonstrate that
they are not covid positive; moreover, they were viewed as non-human beings. On the basis of
discrimination and cruel circumstances faced by migrants, solidarity/communal rights will apply as a
human right. Consequently, the right to international solidarity is a human right that entitles humans
and individuals, on the basis of equal opportunity and non-discrimination, to meaningful participation in,
contribution to, and enjoyment of a social and international order conducive to the full realization of all
human rights and fundamental freedoms.

3. Several problems in the Philippines are more likely to happen repeatedly. To name a few, waters
are contaminated during typhoon seasons, the primary obligation attributed to the management of
MWSS, evection of the people from their houses/homes to be taken care of by NHA and denial of
service and information about health amidst pandemic period by DOH.

Q; Will their rights be continually asserted or circumvented to attain the desired needs? Explain

the probabilities.

Yes, even if the conditions have not yet materialized, one must demand his human right. We get our
rights solely via the performance of our duties; once we do our duties, we obtain our rights. In this
situation, it is already established that a crisis would recur, and as such, one must accelerate efforts to
demand one's rights, notably the right to safety. On the other hand, interdependence is a characteristic
of human rights. In the present scenario, if one want to be entitled to safety, he or she should demand
their rights to get the required necessities - access to safe drinking water and shelter.
4.The right to life by UDHR states that preservation of life is prime consideration. Thereby cases of
suicide, murder, abortion, lunching, euthanasia, among the few examples must be given due
attention. In the case of self defense and soldiers going to war, the inevitable killing of the other is
present.

Q: The right to life as declared by U.N., does it apply to all locations and culture?

Make a conclusive presentation.

No, since it is not legally binding, it does not apply to all areas and cultures. However, it implies that it
should serve as a guiding concept in relation to human rights. According to the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights, 193 nations have signed the declaration; the other countries have not. As a result, it is
unable to activate the declaration in relation to people who did not participate. On the other hand, since
nation-states have their own autonomous legal systems, it is up to them whether they are ready to
account to the United Nations about human rights breaches in their own nations. However, since culture
is also a source of rights, it is open to criticism and argument.
5. Human rights as we normally read in media included unlawful and arbitrary killings by security
forces, vigilantes and others alledgedly by government law encorcement and still others are by
persons in insurgency. These may include forced disappearance which is noiw common, torture,
arbitrary detention which are likely to appear in rural areas, life threatening conditions in prison cells,
political prisoners, most of them are acitivists.

Q; Make a proposition in this situation after exhausting all probabilities in your readings and

research. Expound.

An essential element of human right is ‘intensity to assert one’s right’ and ‘interdependence’. To prevent
such violations to human rights, efforts to assert rights should be done. Although it is evident that life is
inherent to human beings and we have the duty to do what the law commands and forbids, we should
also do our utmost efforts to intensify it. If we are successful on that, then the prevention of
unnecessary violence will be successful. On the other hand, the categories
