Subject: To investigate, for suspension and warning for separation, both parties
This is to inform you, Mr. Adan and Ms. Eva, about an incident that occurred on May 18, 2023,
involving both of you and led to a physical altercation. This memo outlines the details of the
incident as well as the reason behind your argument and the necessary action to close the case.
You had differing preferences for using the same chair in the shared workspace. Mr .Adan
preferred the chair due to its ergonomic features and claimed that it alleviated discomfort during
extended work periods. Ms. Eva, on the other hand, believed that the chair was assigned to her
and felt entitled to use it exclusively.
To address this incident and maintain a healthy work environment, we have initiated an
investigation to gather all relevant information and statements from witnesses.
After an investigation, both will receive an offense for their behavior. Both will be suspended for
one week, effective today, May 22, 2023. You can resume your work on May 29, 2023, and this
is a warning for a separation if either of you continues this kind of behavior. To maintain a
healthy environment, we are going to give each of you the same chair, and one of you will be
assigned to a different department to prevent the incident from happening again.
