STORY

Daedalus, an immensely talented inventor, and craftsman, hailed from Athens. He was known for crafting
extraordinary objects, including the complex Labyrinth of the Minotaur, a piece that would come to define his legacy.
His reputation as a skilled craftsman extended far and wide. In addition Daedalus was also a father to a beloved son
named Icarus.

Daedalus's most renowned creation was the Labyrinth of the Minotaur, a labyrinth maze so intricate that even he,it’s
creator, can barely able to navigate its winding passages. The purpose of the Labyrinth was to serve as the prison for
the Minotaur, with the body of a man and the head of a bull.

While Daedalus was renowned for his achievements, the details of his own origins remained unknown. Various names
were mentioned as possible mothers, and some sources claimed his father was Metion, the son of Erectheus.

Daedalus briefly took on his sister's son, Perdix, as his apprentice. Perdix displayed exceptional creativity and invented
practical tools like the saw and compasses. However, Daedalus's envy grew as Perdix's talents surpassed his own. In a
fit of jealousy, he pushed Perdix off the Acropolis in an attempt to eliminate his apprentice. Yet, the goddess Athena
intervened in this moment of crisis and transformed Perdix into a partridge, saving his life.

Some versions of the story suggest that Daedalus also had another apprentice, his nephew Talos. Talos exhibited
remarkable skills that posed a threat to Daedalus's reputation. Fearing this, Daedalus murdered Talos by throwing him
from the Acropolis.

As a consequence of his heinous acts, Daedalus was sentenced to exile, forever banished from his homeland of
Athens. With nowhere to turn in Greece, Daedalus sought refuge on the island of Crete, a land ruled by King Minos
and Queen Pasiphae.
