Evaluation
Comparing Systems

We began by analyzing three of

the biggest Learning
Management Systems:
● Blackboard
● Canvas
● Moodle
Feature Analysis
We analyzed each of the system’s
features using a spreadsheet, and wrote
a narrative of our findings.

Our major takeaways were:

● Canvas does not have a blog
feature, and Blackboard does not
have Live-text chat.

● All other features were present in

each system, though there were
differences in presentation-
particularly with Moodle.
02
Needs Analysis
● Distributing the survey for your Needs Analysis:
○ Meetings with focus group of constituents,
then digital survey will be distributed via email
● Organizing and prioritizing the Data collected:
○ Referencing Google Sheets data to determine
trends
○ Trends and common responses among
constituent groups organized as priorities
● Collecting additional stakeholder needs:
○ Separate Meetings: one-on-one, just teachers,
just administrators, etc.
○ More specialized surveys for each group could
be drafted to determine more specific priorities
03

Chester has a 1:1 technology initiative that has helped
engage students and teach them necessary 21st Century Skills.
The school currently uses Power School as its LMS.

Exposing the school to a more modern LMS such as Canvas

could be beneficial because it is also used by many other
surrounding school districts that border Chester County.
