products and services.
Please note that possible cyber-attacks cannot be fully avoided by the below mentioned recommendations and
set of measures already performed by ComAp, but by following them the cyber-attacks can be considerably
reduced and thereby to reduce the risk of damage. ComAp does not take any responsibility for the actions of
persons responsible for cyber-attacks, nor for any damage caused by the cyber-attack. However, ComAp is
prepared to provide technical support to resolve problems arising from such actions, including but not limited to
restoring settings prior to the cyber-attacks, backing up data, recommending other preventive measures against
any further attacks.
Warning: Some forms of technical support may be provided against payment. There is no legal or factual
entitlement for technical services provided in connection to resolving problems arising from cyber-attack or
other unauthorized accesses to ComAp's Products or Services.
General security recommendations and set of measures
1. AccessCode
• Change the AccessCode BEFORE the device is connected to a network.
• Use a secure AccessCode – ideally a random string of 8 characters containing lowercase, uppercase letters
and digits.
• For each device use a different AccessCode.
2. Password
• Change the password BEFORE the device enters a regular operation.
• Do not leave displays or PC tools unattended if an user, especially administrator, is logged in.
3. Controller Web interface
• The controller web interface at port TCP/80 is based on http, not https, and thus it is intended to be used only
in closed private network infrastructures.
• Avoid exposing the port TCP/80 to the public Internet.
4. MODBUS/TCP
• The MODBUS/TCP protocol (port TCP/502) is an instrumentation protocol designed to exchange data
between locally connected devices like sensors, I/O modules, controllers etc. From it’s nature it does not
contain any kind of security – neither encryption nor authentication. Thus it is intended to be used only in closed
private network infrastructures.
• Avoid exposing the port TCP/502 to the public Internet.
5. SNMP
• The SNMP protocol (port UDP/161) version 1,2 is not encrypted. Thus it is intended to be used only in closed
private network infrastructures.
• Avoid exposing the port UDP/161 to the public Internet.

1.3.1 Dangerous voltage
In no case touch the terminals for voltage and current measurement!
Always connect grounding terminals!
In any case do not disconnect controller CT terminals!

1.3.2 Working position

After connecting the power wire to a power socket, StarterKit must be in the horizontal position and the
safety lock must be lock (see the picture below).

2 System overview
StarterKit is dedicated for the simulation of basic application using ComAp controller InteliLite. StarterKit allows
to simulate various states of mains, Gen-set, network elements (especially breakers) and other devices.
StarterKit also enable basic user connection for monitoring and configuration from the front panel of StarterKit.
For more possibilities of simulation it is a need of advanced configuration.

3 Step by step instruction
3.1 Work with StarterKit
StarterKit Default configuration
Binary inputs (BIN)

Allows to change BI of the controller

BIN 1 GCB Feedback ON / AUT / OFF

BIN 2 MCB Feedback ON / AUT / OFF
BIN 3 Emergency Stop Normally close
BIN 4 Access Lock Normally Open
BIN 5 Remote Off Normally Open
BIN 6 Remote Test Normally Open
BIN 7 Shutdown Override Normally Open
BIN 8 Free I8 Free BIN

More information about the binary inputs are available in InteliLite Global Guide.
IMPORTANT: For correct function of the Starterkit is necessary to setup first two BI according to
the above table and put the levers to AUT position.

Binary outputs (BOUT)

BOUT 1 Starter
BOUT 2 Fuel Solenoid
BOUT 3 GCB Open/Close
BOUT 4 MCB Open/Close
BOUT 5 Prestart
BOUT 6 Ready to load
BOUT 7 Alarm
BOUT 8 Free BOUT

StarterKit Operator Guide 11

More information about the binary outputs are available in InteliLite Global Guide.
IMPORTANT: For correct function of the StarterKit it is necessary to setup first four BOUT to
specific functions according to the above table

Analog inputs

AIN 1 Oil Pressure Sensor: VDO 10 Bar

AIN 2 Collant Temp Sensor: VDO 40-120°C
AIN 3 Fuel Level Sensor: VDOLevel%
AIN 4 Free AIN

Note: Archive with predefined configuration for StarterKit is available in InteliLite Upgrade Package which is
available on www.comap-control.com

Simulator control

StarterKit also allows you to set up level of:

D+ - Voltage of D+ terminal
Umains - Mains Voltage
Ubat - Battery voltage (DC power supply)
Ugen - Generator voltage
Igen - Generator current level
RPM - Engine RPM
Setpoints
Setpoints which must be set up for correct functions of the Starterkit itself.

StarterKit Operator Guide 12

Setpoint Groups Setpoint Name Setpoint Value
Basic Settings Connection Type MonoPhase
Basic Settings Gear Teeth 0 (FGen ->RPM)
AMF Settings MCB Logic Close-On

3.2 StarterKit first launch guidelines

1. Connect the power wire to a power socket
2. Turn on the power switch
3. START/STOP the simulator
Manually via START/STOP Buttons – when the controller is switch to MAN mode
Automatically – the simulator starts automatically after mains fail when the controller is switch to AUT
mode
Note: All information about modes are available in the new InteliLite Global Guide.

4. Starting process
During starting period must a StarterKit operator change values manually according to the controllers
configuration.
RPM – RPM must be set to nominal RPM via RPM potentiometer
OIL PRESSURE – Oil pressure has to be set above the Starting oil pressure value during this period
if not Wrn Stop fail is displayed and vice versa when the engine is stopped the oil pressure must be
below the Starting oil pressure value. Oil pressure can be set up via analog input 1 potentiometer
(AIN1)
U GEN – Generator voltage must be set to nominal voltage via UGen potentiometer
I GEN – Generator current must be set to nominal current via IGen potentiometer
All information about the New InteliLITE starting conditions are available in the InteliLite Global Guide.
