Electrical Lab Basics for Students

The document summarizes an electrical engineering lab session for students. The lab focused on basic electrical concepts like current, voltage, resistance and continuity. Students used a breadboard, wires, bulbs, resistors, batteries and a multimeter. They learned to use the multimeter to measure current, voltage and resistance. Students also used simulation software to design circuits before building them physically. They reported their findings and discussed lessons learned, such as the importance of simulation and safety practices.

TITLE
INTRODUCTION TO ELECTRICAL ENGINERRING

OBJECTIVE
 To learn about basic electrical things like current, voltage, resistence and
continuity .

 To learn how to convert multimeter into ammeter, voltmeter and ohmeter and

how they connect in circuit.

 Learn structure of breadboard.

 How to use simulation software like TINKERCAD.

Components used:
Wires

Bulb

Resistor

Equipments used:
 Breadbord

 9 volt battery

 Multimeter

Procedure
1. Before practical work we must make simulation , for this we use a software
TINKERCAD.
2. Go to design and then create a circuit.

3. On left search bar, search all required components, like 9 v battery, small
breadboard, resistor and a multimeter.

4. Make all necessary connection, and start simulation to test whether its
permissible circuit or not.

5. One by one convert mutimeter into ammeter (connect in

series),voltmeter(parallel connection) and ohmmeter and note the readings.

BREADBOARD
Before final product, first simulation is built by tinkercad(SOFTWARE),then on
breadboard and finally approve them for PCB.
A breadboard is used to connect components, like wires, resistors,
capacitors, and coils, to conduct various process.

READINGS

 Reading 1 : In this scenario, I connected ammeter in series by

converting mutlimeter into ammeter and lights the bulb.

 Reading 2: in this case convert mutlimeter into voltmeter and connect it in

parallel way and –ve value is due to connection of +ve terminal with –ve
one

 Reading 3: measure the resistance of resistor by converting multimeter

inti ohmmeter
 Reading 4: with help of battery bulb lights and connect voltmeter into
parallel way and got this

LESSON LERANED
 I learn the very basics of electrical engineering like how current remain
same in series and voltage in parallel. connection of voltmeter should be in
parallel and ammeter in series. (M. UMAR ASGHAR)
 I learn what is breadboard and for what it is used, its used for several
experiments before final PCB. (ABDUL REHMAN KHAN)
 There is several simulation software, but I study and used tinkercad for
simulation, simulation should be done before breadboard. (OKASHA
BUKHARI)
 All things including safety measures, continuity and how much voltage,
current a human body endure. (M. JAWAD AZAM)
