FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Himangula Bankers Donate K3 Million Worth of Goods
The Himangula Bankers has donated goods valued at K3 million to local farmers in Mazabuka. The
donation event took place on the 19th September, 2023 from 14:00 to 17:00 at the Mazabuka Primary School
grounds along Lusaka Livingstone Road.
Recognizing the importance of ensuring that farmers are well-prepared before the farming season to
increase crop yield, The Himangula Bankers have undertaken this philanthropic endeavor to empower the
local farming community. The goods donated include a variety of maize seeds, sunflower seed, groundnut
seeds, ox ploughs, urea and compound d fertilizer and many more.
The donation has garnered praise from President Hakainde Hichilema, who commended The
Himangula Bankers for their substantial contribution to the betterment of local farmers' lives. President
Hichilema emphasized the pivotal role such initiatives play in elevating the agricultural sector and,
consequently, the economic growth of the region.
The Local Government and Rural Development Minister, who also serves as the Member of
Parliament for Mazabuka Central Constituency Garry Nkombo, also extended heartfelt gratitude to The
Himangula Bankers for their generous gesture. He then called upon other companies to follow this noble
example and give back to the communities they operate within to help grow the economy through the
agriculture sector and also better the lives of the people.
Chipo Himangula, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Himangula Bankers, expressed
enthusiasm about the initiative, stating, " Studies have shown that timely access to all necessary farming
inputs can result in up to a 78 percent increase in crop yield, making The Himangula Bankers' initiative all
the more significant. We are proud to support the local farming community in Mazabuka. The Himangula
Bankers are committed to working closely with farmers and entrepreneurs, offering financial services and
loans to support business startups."
