Good morning everyone, in just few minutes we are about to begin our program and series of activities.

Everyone is advised to find their comfortable seats while waiting for others to register and make their
attendances.

*( Introduction- Program Proper)

To begin this auspicious occasion, let me start with a quotation by Paul J. Meyer,

“Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of commitment to excellence, intelligent

planning and focused effort”.

Today we are going to make ourselves productive being the most important assets in our agency. We
are going to make immeasurable improvement in our own’s organization's ability to fulfill its mission
and vision through strong governance, accountability and dedication.

As the month of September kicks off, we are all united in celebrating Maritime Week with the Theme :
‘MarPol at 50- Our commitment goes on’. The theme reflects the organization's long history of
protecting the environment from the impact of shipping via a robust regulatory framework and
emphasizes its ongoing commitment to this important work. The theme 'MARPOL at 50 – Our
commitment goes on' spotlights the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships
(MARPOL), which covers prevention of pollution of the marine environment by ships from operational or
accidental causes.

Well, with our utmost collective effort we can develop organizations strength and sustainability which
can aid the issues and concerns about our seafarers as well as our marine environment.

To our highly respected Regional Director, Atty Maximo B. Banares, to our enthusiastic & ever
supportive Section Heads, to our versatile immediate supervisors, colleagues, participants, our warm
morning greetings to each & everyone. I am Miss Sarah Marie S. Ables your emcee’s for today’s event.
