Things that I have learned today: The topic is globalization the first contestant or the first one to speak his
opinion is Manfred B. Steger an American author, Globalization for him is the expansion and intensification of
social relation and consciousness across the world, he says that we can socialize to other countries with the
social media apps. Next is Anthony Giddens an English sociologist, he says that the globalization makes our
world smaller, it makes the transactions or idea to other countries easier, he also talks about industrial
development. The next one is Thomas Friedman an author, reporter and a columnist, he says that globalization
is the integration of cultures, economies and societies in our world; it is facilitated by advance technology. And
the last one is Kristalina Georgieva a Director of IMF, she says that globalization was the door that led for
greater cooperation and understanding between the countries.

Things I want to learn more about: More information about the ideology of Kristalina Georieva and Thomas
Friedman because their speech was a bit short.

Questions I still have: What the phrase “Globalization for him is the expansion and intensification of social
relation and consciousness across the world” meant

Comments and Suggestion: The sound qualities into edits are very good but the only downside to their
presentation is that sometimes they switch their language to Filipino especially the last speaker.

Things that I have learned today: The first topic in globalization they talked about is the typologies of the
globalization, the first typology they mentioned is the economic globalization, it talked about the traits of the
countries, which are the goods or services they give. Next is the political, they talked about UN or united nation,
it wants to develop peace in the countries, it aims to make the countries and the world better, WHO or world
health organization, which where they helped a lot. Next is the Financial, he talked about linkish. And then they
switched the setup and the two host started to talk about the other typologies.

Things I want to learn more about: The financial typology because I couldn’t hear much from the speaker and
also a bit short.

Questions I still have: What the linkish in the financial typology was meant for.

Comments and Suggestion: The audio quality is a bit disorienting; their voices are not heard as much because
of the loud background. The editing in the middle part was too much or at least I didn’t like it where the kid was
playing a ukulele and also they used Tagalog almost all throughout the presentation. Overall it is still informative
and the edits are good just needed to be toned out a bit

Reflection:
Things that I have learned today: They talked about the metaphor of globalization, its flow encapsulates the
dynamic essence of globalization where it becomes an interconnected space of exchange. And then the next
one metaphor of friction eliminates the shallow cast by globalization, while open markets have brought prosperity
but it also triggered conflicts. Next is the metaphor of acceleration, Valles talks about new jobs and

competencies because of the new technologies to AI, where we are forced to

find new alternative petroleum based energy. Next is Disruption, it talks about the transformative nature of
globalization, it redefines the entire industry, disruption is a reminder of adaptability and innovation are in a
rapidly evolving global landscape. Next is the dislocation, automation threatens jobs and those who can’t keep
up basically the reminder of the need to survive. And the last is connectivity, it talks about establishment of the
infrastructures.

Things I want to learn more about: I want to learn more about the Accelaration to the last metaphor because the
script kept getting less and less near the end.

Questions I still have: How many jobs has been removed because of the metaphor of dislocation.

Comment's and Suggestion: The script is good and they all used English as the primary language, no one did
use tagalog and it was overall very informative, the downside is that not all of them opened their camera.
