CHAPTER I

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM


This study aimed to determine the difficulties of Engineering students who took courses unrelated

to their senior high school strand.

To understand the topic in depth, the researchers would like to answer the following questions:

1. What are the difficulties being encountered by the engineering students?


2. How did these difficulties affect their performance in class?
3. What are their motivations in order to continue pursuing their course, despite of the
difficulties they have encountered?
