Boho Rainbow Baby Blanket

Materials:
• J/6mm crochet hook
• #4 worsted weight yarn. I used RHSS and Caron One
Pound. I don’t have exact colors because I used leftover
scrap yarn. Be creative and choose whatever colors you

like! One skein for each color band and for
background/border is plenty
• Yarn needle
• Scissors
• Stitch markers
I used 7 different color bands made up of 4 rows each, but

you could use more or less depending on your style.
Examples
7 colors = 4 rows of each color
Abbreviations:
• Ch—Chain
• SC—Single Crochet
• DC—Double Crochet
• ST(S) - Stitch(es)
• BS—Bobble Stitch
• HDC—Half Double Crochet

•FPDC—Front Post Double
Crochet

Bobble Stitch—YO insert hook in stitch and pull up a loop,YO
and pull thru 2 loops on your hook. Do this 4 more
times.ThenYarn over and pull through all 6 loops on your
hook.
Blanket is approximately 32x32 inches. You can adjust size

slightly but using larger or smaller needle but this will affect
the finished look. You can also add more rows of color bands or
border rows adjusting stitch count as necessary.
PATTERN:
Foundation Chain—Using Border Color/Inner Rainbow Color -
Chain 49
Row 1: DC 47, starting in the 2nd chain from the hook. In

the last stitch, DC 3 stitches in the same stitch,. Continue
around the bottom of the foundation chain, DC in the next
47 stitches. (97sts)
Row 2: CH 2, turn, DC in the next 47 stitches, 2 DC in the

next st, 3DC in the next stitch , 2 DC in the next st. DC in
the next 47 stitches. (101sts)
Note—DC in the same stitch as the chain 2. CH 2 does not

count as a stitch for entire pattern
This is where the color rows start, there are 28 rows.You

can divide them however.

Row 3: CH 2, turn, DC in the next 47 stitches, 2 DC in the

next 3 sts, 1 DC in the next stitch , 2 DC in the next 3 sts.
DC in the next 47 stitches. (107sts)
Row 4: ch 1, turn, SC 5, *BS, SC 5—repeat *around entire
blanket (107sts)
Row 5: CH 2, turn, DC in the next 47 stitches. 2 DC in the

next st. 1 DC, 2 DC in the next st, 1 DC, 2DC in the next st.
DC 3. 2 DC in the next st. 1 DC, 2 DC in the next st, 1 DC,
2DC in the next st. DC 47. (113sts)
Row 6: ch 1, turn, SC2, BS, *SC 5, BS—repeat from * until

there are 2 sts left. SC 2 (113sts)
Row 7: ch 2, turn, DC 47, 2 DC in the next st, 1 DC in the

next 2 sts, 2 DC in the next st, 1 DC in the next 2 sts, 2 DC
in the next st, DC 5, 2 DC in the next st, 1 DC in the next 2

Border:
• Layout your rainbow and put stitch markers on the 63rd
stitch up each side (These stitch markers are X’s below)
• With another stitch marker on the right side, count back
11 sts and place the stitch marker there. (markedY below)
• On the left side, count back 14 sts and place another
stitch marker there. (marked Z below)

Border
Change color to Border Color
Row 1: ch 2 turn, DC until you hit the first stitch marker.TC
5, DTC 6, you should be at the next stitch marker where
the upper right corner is formed. DTC 2, ch1, DTC 2 all in
the same stitch to form the corner. Now you are working on
the top of the blanket border. DTC 6,TC 5, DC 2, HDC 1,
then SC until you hit the next stitch marker, HDC 1, DC 2,
TC 5, DTC 6. you should be at the next stitch marker where
the upper left corner is formed. DTC 2, ch1, DTC 2 all in the
same stitch to form the corner. And working down the left
Side of the blanket DTC 6,TC 5. DC until there is 1 stitch
left. In the last st, DC 2, ch1, DC 2 all in the same stitch
to form the corner. DC across the bottom and at the corner
(DC 2, ch1, DC 2). Join to the first DC.

Now move the stitch markers that were 11 sts back from
the corner to 8 sts back from the corner on the right side
and 11 sts back from the corner on the left side.
Row 2: ch 2, DC until you reach the st marker,TC 8, At the

corner TC 2 ch1 TC 2 all in the CH 1 space from the
previous row.TC 8, DC 2, HDC 1, then SC until you hit the
stitch marker, HDC 1, DC 2, TC 8. At the corner TC 2 ch1
TC 2 all in the CH 1 space from the previous row.TC 8, DC
until you hit the bottom left corner. DC 2 ch1 DC 2 all in the
CH 1 space from the previous row. DC across the bottom
until you hit the corner. DC 2 ch1 DC 2 in the CH 1 space
from the previous row.. DC 1 then join to 1st DC from the
previous row.
Row 4: ch 2, DC ch 1, skip a stitch DC. Repeat around entire

blanket. But at corners DC 2, CH1, DC 2, in ch 1 space from
the previous row. Join
Row 5: ch 2, 2 DC in all ch 1 space from previous row. But at

corners DC 2, CH1 DC 2 in ch 1 space from the previous row.
Join
Row 6: Ch 2, DCFPO, DCBPO, repeat all the way around.

But at corners HDC 2, CH1, HDC 2 ,in ch 1 space from the
previous row. Join to 1st DC.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
