PROBLEMS OF INDUSTRIAL WORKERS IN BANGLADESH

• Safety regulation and intervention should be reasonable.

• Building codes should not be violated.
• Safety measurement must be practiced at every level of the industry.
• Child labour should be strictly prohibited.
• Managers, supervisors, and workers should be properly trained in fire and safety
procedures and take responsibility for ensuring the safe exit of the building during or
following an incident.
• Personal protective equipment minimizes potential hazards. Use personal protective
equipment such as safety glasses, apron, mask, gloves, hair net, etc.
• Ensure strict punishment for those culprits whose negligence is the main reasons behind
severe industrial disasters.

Action
FOXCONN HAS REDUCED HOURS TO UNDER
60 PER WEEK INCLUDING OVERTIME AND IS
AIMING TO REACH FULL COMPLIANCE WITH
THE CHINESE LEGAL LIMIT OF 40 HOURS PER
WEEK PLUS AN AVERAGE OF NINE HOURS OF
OVERTIME PER WEEK.
INDIA
Though they have claimed that they
are following The Labor Act of India But
• crowded dorms and food sometimes
crawling with worms. Not only that, but
workers slept on the floor in rooms, which
housed between six to 30 women.

• At that time, a total of 259 workers suffered

from food poisoning in one incident, one
hundred of which reportedly needed to be
admitted to the hospital.
ACTION
Foxconn said its local management team to ensure
it can achieve and maintain the standards needed,
and was taking immediate steps to improve
facilities. All employees would continue to be paid
while it makes necessary improvements to restart
operations.

Build large hostels that can together

accommodate up to 60,000 workers near
its manufacturing facility.

OVERVIEW
Most of the companies claim to follow the labor laws of
their countries, but often they failed because of their
mismanagement. But when protests arise if the country
law is strong and political environment is positive
and democratic. Moreover, workers are aware of
their legal rights, companies have to ensure labor law
facilities to their employees.

attempting to form and join trade

employer threats, physical violence,

We have several welfare labor

emphasize their use in industries.
