CHAPTER l
INTRODUCTION
A.Baground of the paper
In one historical reference, the omlette was first discovered by the Romans who
cooked an omelet with honey. They call the dish by the name of ovemele. It
literally translates to "eggs and honey".
Another history says that the word omelette comes from French, from the words
'oeuf' which means egg, and 'laite' which means milk.
In the 18th century, a war general named Napoleon Bonaparte crossed southern
France. The General ordered a regional specialty known as an omelette/eggs.
It turned out that Napoleon really liked the food and ordered another large
number the next day for his soldiers. Since then, the egg omelette began to be
known by the wider community until now.
Omelets are almost all over the world. So popular, the largest omelette ever
made in Japan in 1994, used 160,000 eggs, and produced an omelette of 128.5
