Destroys Lives and Communities.” The Guardian, Guardian News and Media, 21 Sept. 2022.
Summary:
The human body works in stergic tactics when suffering from food deprivation, an issue
overlooked by medical professionals today. It is estimated that there are at least hundreds of
millions of people around the world suffering from hunger. Scientists have found that if the body
does not receive enough calories to turn into energy, the body will start to burn its own fat
Africa has been faced with the issue of hunger for several years now. After a sustained
period of severe lack of food, the only fat left in the body will be between muscles, in joints and
organ cells. The side effects of this serve hunger include: feelings of being weak and dizzy,
irritable, and struggle to concentrate. Due to the body’s eating of fat and tissue for energy, this
results in muscle atrophy, the medical condition in which results in a loss of muscle mass;
consequently, within the matter of a few weeks, there will be no way for enough muscle to
the fact that millions of people have been affected by the disease, there is still a great deal to
learn about it. The lack of food affects the immune system in such a way that the lymph nodes
shrink, and as a result fewer white blood cells are produced. The risk of malaria, as well as
pneumonia and sepsis, increases a lot when one has a reduced immune system.
Malnutrition is the main cause of death among children under the age of five in almost
half of the countries around the world. Children who suffer from malnutrition are at greater risk
of contracting diseases like measles, malaria, pneumonia, and diarrhea that can be fatal to them.
The stress of global hunger continues to affect those in poor and developing continents, such as
Africa.
Personal Reflection:
There is a global issue of world hunger that hinders the development of many developing
countries, including Zimbabwe and Ethiopia, due to a lack of resources and materials. As a result
of this issue, communities and children continue to suffer from illnesses, diseases, and death. The
article discussed malnutrition, stating that it affects the immune system and even vital organs,
such as the heart. Researchers are claiming that they will only conduct research if money is
involved. This is likely due to the lack of money in these countries for them to afford proper
research assistance. Researchers are less likely to offer their services in poor and developing
countries.
In 2015, the United Nations established 17 sustainable development goals, including "Zero
hunger by 2030." The UN predicts that by 2030 there will be 840 million people affected by
hunger. Overall, the articleIn total, the article provides an eye-opening study covering the
dangers of world hunger and factors that contribute to the harsh reality for many people all over
