Related to the teachers:

1. Do you think that the socioeconomic conditions of your students affect either negatively or
positively on their academic performance?

- I think that the socioeconomic condition is an important factor in the development of the student
but I do not agree that it influences their academic performance. It seems to me that academic
performance is more rooted in the effort and importance that the student gives it.

2. Do you consider that the institution where you work offers the necessary resources for
learning? Is it good infrastructure?

- Of course, the institution provides students with the technological, recreational, and educational
resources necessary for learning a second language, in this case English. Over the years, the
institution has made great progress in its level of English. Regarding the infrastructure of the
school, I consider that it is adequate for the development of the students.

3. Do you take the level of your students into account when designing your English course?

-The level of English of the students is very important for any teacher when designing the course
or the unit plan because it allows them to have an idea of the degree of learning that will be
obtained at the end of an academic year and how to develop themes that all students are able to
understand.

4. What criteria do you keep in mind designing your English course?

- In general, when designing my English course, I take into account the abilities and lacks of my
students, communication skills, performance in individual or partner work, interest in the
language, comprehension and production, etc. it is important to create a lesson plan that covers
factors like the above to ensure a positive outcome.

5. Who designs the English course and how is the design process carried out?

- The English course is designed by the teacher in charge taking into account the factors
mentioned above and the suggested curriculum. The suggested curriculum is very important when
designing the English course because it is the tool that the state provides us to have a control of
learning of students regardless of the school where they are studying.

6. Why are learning objectives important, and how do you decide them for implementation?

- The learning objectives are important because they indicate what students are expected to learn
and be able to do in the course of the unit, they are implemented according to the development of
the unit, putting into practice each characteristic included in the learning objectives.

7. What is your primary and primary objective of English classes based on?

- Mainly I take into account its feasibility, that is, that students can carry out carry out enjoyable
language development over time, using available resources and in a real context.

8. In your opinion, are students` needs and preferences important when planning a course?

- Clearly, we must take into account the needs of the students speaking academically because it is
what we want to cover, it would be of no use to teach a class if it does not cover the needs of the
students. On the other hand, to make a class more attractive for them, we take their preferences
into account.

9. In your opinion, how often do teachers check the course?

- Usually a course is reviewed at the end of the school period, that is, 4 times a year or monthly,
from my point of view, I consider that reviewing it every 2 weeks will not obtain a concrete result.

10. Do you make your own curriculum, or do you consider the school’s one?

- I take the school curriculum into account but I make modifications depending on the abilities and
shortcomings of the students. It is important to adapt the curriculum to the needs they have.

11. Do you take into consideration other people’s opinions while designing the course?

- In short, it is important to take into account the opinion of a classmate as long as it is to improve
the academic performance of the class, sometimes it may be that when designing the course
things are overlooked and the opinion of another person is worth it.
