PAST

The past tense is used to talk about events that happened in the past. The events could be done minutes ago, hours ago,
days ago or so.

PRESENT /PAST PROGRESSIVE

The progressive tenses are used to talk about activities or events that are happening at the moment or already past in a
short time or period. The present progressive can be used for future action as well.

PRESENT AND PAST PERFECT

The present perfect is used to talk about events or situations that started in the past and are still happening in the
present. The past perfect is used to describe situations or events that started in the past, had duration at any time but
they are now finished.

FUTURE – WILL / GOING TO

Will is used to express intentions for the future that are unplanned.(prediction, assumption;
spontaneous action)

Going to is used to express planned situations for the future (planned action in the future;
logical consequence (sth. is going to happen)

If someone asked you to go with him to a concert and you say yes, the answer would be:

Janeth: Do you want to come with me to the concert?

George: Of course, I will.

When you tell someone about your plan with Janeth, you say:

George: Hey Paul, I am going to go to the concert with Janeth.

First conditional: Put the verbs in brackets into the gaps. Form a Conditional sentence - type I. Only
use the will-future in the main clauses.
