NARRATIVE REPORT

We, REEHAM A. TALADRO and KENDRICK S. IMBING, both Filipinos, of

legal age and resident of Southcom Village, Zamboanga City and Putik, Zamboanga
City, respectively do hereby depose the following:

1. We are both 3rd Year students of Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering of

the College of Engineering (COE) of Western Mindanao State University.

2. Last September 8, 2023, Reeham and three of my friends, namely: Raihan

Amilhamja, Namie and Lala, attended the Rave Party of the University at its Open
Field.

3. At around 7:30pm, a group of six male students went to our circle and an
acquaintance of mine from their group asked for water from Reeham.

4. Reeham gave the bottled water to him and right after giving the bottle, Reeham
and friends went to another are in the open Field to get away from the crowd of
people.

5. Reeham noticed that the same group of students followed them.

6. As Reeham and friends were enjoying the music being played, jumping around,
Reeham felt two hands grabbing her buttocks.

7. When she turned around, Reeham saw that same group of students standing just
two feet right behind her looking at her.

8. Reeham said to Raihan, Namie and Lala that someone grabbed her buttocks.

9. They went away from the Open Field and tell their other friends who were sitting
in one of the tents being set up at the side of the field.

10. When their other friends knew what happened, they all went back to the area and
found no one was left there except one guy who we know was from the College of
Asian and Islamic Studies (CAIS).

11. Reeham asked the guy where were his group and he said they already left. He
accompanied Reeham and friends to the parking lot where the other members of
the group were.

12. Reeham confronted the group and asked who among them grabbed her buttocks
but no one admitted, saying, “bukun sadtu kami, indah”.

13. After that, Reeham wanted to go home for she felt so alone. She called Kendrick to
fetch her.

14. When Kendrick arrived, Reeham told him what happened. Despite the anger and
agitation, Reeham, Kendrick and friends pondered on what to do.
15. Undecided what to do with what just transpired, Reeham just went home
accompanied by Kendrick.

16. When Reeham arrived at home, she wanted to express her feelings so she voiced
out her emotions in a post in her Facebook account.

17. She posted: “Nag-enjoy lang naman po kami sa Rave Party, bat naman po biglang
mambabastos?”

18. Her post garnered reactions and comments from her friends, mostly asking her
what happened.

19. Raihan wrote a comment in the post, “CAIS manyakol”. Lloyd, another friend of
Reeham, wrote, “G boss.”

20. Kendrick also wrote in the comment section, “Set na Monday. Campus B.”

21. On the morning after, Reeham received a message from Alhesam Said, a Mayor of
the College Student Council (CSC) of the CAIS, asking her if she could come to
their office.

22. Reeham declined the invitation as she has work on that day. Alhesam and Reeham
agreed to meet on Monday instead.

23. Learning that there seems to be a rift caused by her post last night, Reeham posted
in her MyDay in Facebook the following: “Last night’s rave party was truly
traumatizing, and we never expected something like that to happen. We avoid this
group of men, but still they continued to follow us, and one of them did
something inappropriate. Regarding the department associated with these men,
their CSC officers have already spoken to me and assured me that they will take
action regarding this incident. We also apologize for the profanity we used in the
comment section it was a result of our emotional state and we don’t mean to
offend the other students of your department that is not involved in the incident.
Now, I really hope that someone among them will find their conscience and admit
to the wrongdoing. It’s not easy for us women to move on from such an incident,
especially when it occurs in a public place at my school.”

24. On Monday, September 11, 2023, Reeham, Kendrick, Raihan, Namie, Lala, a
senator of the CSC of the COE, the President and Vice President of the Industrial
Engineering, and other friends, went to the office of the CSC of CAIS at around 9
a.m. On the part of the CSC of CAIS, a number of its officers, its adviser, Sir Tong,
and the group of male students from the party last Friday were there.

25. Reeham learned that the CSC of CAIS reached out to the CSC of COE to meet at
their office. They agreed that the issue will be handled by and among the students
without the intervention of the faculty and other university officials.

26. During the meeting, all the students concerned recounted what happened during
the party and also voiced out how they felt about the post.

27. Afterwards, both groups of students decided to settle the issue amicably.
28. Reeham was sorry for not being able to filter the comments to her post and to all
students who were unfairly affected by it.

29. Raihan agreed to post a public apology for her comment.

30. The group of students from CAIS was sorry too for how Reeham felt during the
party and the trauma it caused her.

31. Having no clear knowledge on who grabbed her buttocks and none from the
group of students admitted, Reeham resolved to move on from the incident.

32. The groups were already settled when Mr. Nurhasan Jamami Danial entered the
office. He said that he wanted to clarify with Lloyd about the seemingly threat he
wrote in the comment.

33. Reeham and friends agreed to bring Lloyd to the office in the afternoon.

34. In the afternoon, Reeham, Kendrick, Lloyd, Raihan, Resurrect, Ac-ac and other
friends went back to the CSC office of CAIS. The group of students from CAIS, its
CSC officers and Sir Tong were already there. The parties agreed to threshed out
the issue with Lloyd’s comment only.

35. When Mr. Danial arrived, Lloyd clarified that what he meant was for them to have
a dialogue about the incident. It was settled then so the guys involved shook their
hands as a sign of peace and repose.

36. Afterwards, the group of CAIS students were on their guards when they heard
that Mr. Eddie Mariam Ladja was coming.

37. Mr. Ladja said that he was there to help settle the issue among the students. He
said that Reeham and friends should be careful with what they post and comment.

38. Reeham and friends listen carefully to what Mr. Ladja was saying and heeded
thereto. However, Reeham reacted to when Mr. Ladja said that if one is
conservative, she should not attend parties like the Rave Party.

39. Reeham believes that it was not about being conservative or not. The party was a
school event and she did not expect that such a traumatic incident would happen
to her on school grounds where she is supposed to be safe.

40. Mr. Ladja’s voice and arguments started to heat up. Reeham began crying feeling
helpless and overwhelmed.

41. When Mr. Ladja asked Kendrick what Reeham wanted to happen, the two had eye
contact with each other. Mr. Ladja started acting furiously saying, “ayaw kaw mag
atud kakuh bihan. Kussuun ku in mata mo yan.”

42. An audio recording of the conversations with Mr. Ladja is hereto attached as part
of the narration.
43. Reeham and Kendrick were thankful for the wisdom of Mr. Ladja and Mr. Danial
to help them threshed out the issue. However, the way they handled the issue was
so unprofessional of them considering they are professors.

44. The issue was already agreed by the parties to resolve them among and by
students only. The main issue of sexual harassment was already settled in the
morning.

45. Reeham, Kendrick and friends felt harassed and threatened by the actuations of
Mr. Ladja and Mr. Danial as can be heard in the audio recording. They were also
unfairly treated as they were not accompanied by their professors or officers from
their college.

46. Mr. Ladja later calmed down and asked every party how they wanted the issue to
be resolved. Everyone unanimously agree to settle the issue amicably as what has
been already agreed in the morning.

47. Reeham and Kendrick felt harassed and threatened by the actuations of Mr. Ladja
and Mr. Danial. The two professors ripped up what has already been settled and
aggravate the trauma caused by the harassment that occurred prior which Reeham
had no choice but to accept without justice being served to her.
