BTLE HE-2A

Dead Poets Society by Tom Schulman

In the start of the film, a young man named Todd Anderson started his journey in his
junior high and he was so shy. The school he belonged was a school who allows only men
or male students and it’s very strict when it comes to rules. However, at his first day of
school, he met his roommate “Neil Perry”, one of Wilton’s amazing student and since
they’re roommates, Todd met his roommate’s friends too. They are Knox Overstreet,
Richard Cameron, Steven Meeks, Gerard Pitts, and Charlie Dalton who became Todd’s
friends too. On the first day of classes, they are surprised by the unorthodox teaching
methods of the new English teacher, John Keating. A former Rhodes Scholar and a Welton
alumnus himself, Keating encourages his students to "make your lives extraordinary", a
sentiment he summarizes with the Latin expression carpe diem, meaning "seize the day."
Upon learning that Keating was a member of the unsanctioned Dead Poets Society while he
was at Welton, Neil restarts the club and he and his friends sneak off campus to a cave
where they read poetry and verse, including their own compositions. The students were
encouraged to live in a way that they want. Knox pursues Chris Noel, an attractive
cheerleader who is dating Chet Danburry, a football player from a local public school whose
family is friends with his. Neil found his love in acting and managed to play a big role in
acting  in a local production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, despite the fact that his
domineering father Thomas wants him to be a doctor. Charlie wants to convince the school
administrators to admit female students and decided to write an article about it and as
expected the administrators noticed it and called a meeting about the problem. Charlie
decided to claim it and that’s how the Dead Poets Society was found out. After that, the
admin started to asked questions about it. After Neil’s performance, he’s professor and the
other viewers including he’s friend was so impressed with his talent but unfortunately,
right after Neil’s performance, he’s father arrived and Neil thought that he made his father
changed his mind but he didn’t and together, they leave the place where he performed
immediately. Before leaving, Mr. John Keating was told by Mr. Perry to stay away from his
son. At home, Neil and his father had some arguments but Neil did not managed to tell his
side and his father decided to send him to another school. He’s father gave him the chance
to tell his side but he was a very good son and decided to stop the argument instead. His
parents decided to sleep and the moment his father woke up Neil is dead. They blamed Mr.
Keating after and Neil’s friends were forced to sign a contract telling that it was their
professor’s fault. Before the movie end Todd stood for Mr. Keating to show his gratitude
and to tell the truth and their other classmates stand for him too.
3 Idiots by Rajkumar Hirani
In the movies beginning, it showed a man who’s inside a plane and someone called
him, he’s name is Farhan Qureshi. He did something to skip his flight and called a friend
named Raju Rastogi. They decided to meet each other because they heard a news about
their another friend. First they met their old classmate Hatur, who reminds them of the bet
which they and Rancho had made ten years ago about who will end up more successful in
the next ten years, as he boasts to them about his more successful career in the United
States of America as the vice-president of Rockledge Corporation, an American
conglomerate. Farhan and Raju initially berate him for his act, but calm down once he
reveals to them that he has traced Rancho to Shimla. As the three leave for Shimla, Farhan
reminisces about their college days. They remembered their college days and had a long
story telling. They talked about their wise friend named Rancho, who comes from a rich
family but has a passion for engineering as well as their college director Dr. Viru
Sahastrabuddhe a.k.a. Virus, whose doctrinal methods of learning contrast with Rancho's
carefree love for knowledge, resulting in a tiff between them on their first meeting. The
three of them had a hard time with Mr. Viru specially Rancho. He was a student who make
Mr. Viru realized a lot including teaching. Mr. Viru was strict and that’s why their college of
engineering has a high rate in the field of universities. However, the way Mr. Viru
implemented his rules was so strict to the point where he doesn’t understood the students
situatrions. He’s not accepting excuses. That’s why Joy Lobo, a student with a passion for
machines. dies by suicide. After Virus tells him that he will not graduate. Mr. Vinu was
blamed by Rancho and Mr. Vinu couldn’t accept that and he made the lives of the three
miserable. Raju jumped from the third floor of a building because he can’t betray his best
friend Rancho just to continue his dream to be an engineer. He went in a comma but his
best friends helped him to fight against the paralization. In the end of their school year they
all graduated and that happened after once of Mr. Vinu’s daughter gave birth to his
grandson. All of them was placed in a very tough situation like the electricity stopped and
the mother of the child lost a lot of her strength but they all managed to survive the
situation with the help of the 3 idiots and other colleagues. Rancho started to apply his
knowledge in that situation and in the end of that scenario, Mr. Vinu gave his pen to
Rancho. Back in reality, they convinced  Pia Sahastrabuddhe, Virus' younger daughter, an
intelligent medical student. Despite her father's disapproval, she and Rancho fall in love to
leave her wedding and be with Rancho. In the end all of them became successful and was
accepted by their family.
The lead actors in the two movies fulfill their expectations, as their performance is
excellent. The movies are great and made me cry about their story which proves that they are
good actors and even the productions including the derectors did so well in the movie. The
storyline flows smoothly, I enjoyed watching those. Those are the movies that should be watch
not only by the students but the teachers as well because those movies will let them realized a
lot like how the life of a student works at school and at home. Even the teachers has their own
lives to live and the students must understood their situation too. Personally, I realized that
being a teacher isn’t easy, it is hard to measure how strict a teacher should be in their student
because it might be the reason for their students to collapse and lost their lives and on the other
hand, it was hard for them to lose the belt too much because some students might abuse the
teachers kindness. A teacher is like our parents, they just both wanted their student and
children to be successful someday and yet sometimes things goes wrong and the persons lives
was ruined instead. They also have a big impact in someone’s life because someone is learning a
lot from the parents and teachers. The teachers are the second parents that all of the students
have, they are molding or helping the students to grow and sometimes the teachers are the
student’s friend too. In a way that they could tell their problems at home and even the words
that they couldn’t tell to their parents directly. Without the teacher there will be no successful
future. I believed that without the teachers there will be no doctor, lawyer, policemen, teacher
and other types of profession even business owners in the next generations that helps to
balance the world. Sometimes, even the home failed to teach their children about the proper
way to handle things and at that point, that’s when the importance and roles of the teachers
enters again. If the home failed, the teachers will try their best to manage and help the student
what he/she must learn to be able to help and balance the society.

Someday I will be a teacher too and the movie helped me to realized how big
responsibility it is to be a teacher. What I love about this subject from the start and up until now
is the fact that it is making me a better person in every lesson. It contributes a lot on how I
should handle my future situation. The movies that I watched showed me how lucky I am as a
student to have such a supportive parents and good teachers that never pressures us too much.
Having a dream is one of the wonderful things we have and we keep on holding onto that to
work hard in our studies. The movies gave me a reminder that if I will be put in that situation
someday, I have to make sure that I will do better that what the teachers from the movies
shown. I will inspire my future students to live and don’t just exist like Mr. Keating did and let
them know how important it is to follow rules like Mr. Vinu did. The difference will be I will use
some of Mr. Vinu’s mindset to discipline them properly and the heart of and passion of Mr.
Keating to understand the situations of my future students and have adjustments if needed and
my expected outcome is that I will be a better teacher than Mr. Vinu and Mr. Keating someday
because I want to combine their methods of teaching.

That’s all ma’am. Thank you for patiently reading my work 
