36. Ajay supplies consignments of bread and jam to canteen in a school and a 4
hospital. Bread and Jam are supplied in equal number of pieces. Bread comes in
a pack of 8 pieces and there are 6 small units of jam in a pack. On a particular
day Ajay supplied x packets of bread and y packets of jam to the school. On the
same day he supplied 3x packets of bread along with the required packets of
jam to the hospital. If the strength of students in the school is greater than 500
but less than 520, then answer the following questions:
(i) What is the number of students in the school?
(ii)How many packs of jam are supplied in the school?
(iii)How many bread packets are supplied in both the hospital and school?

How many packets of jam are sufficient to be supplied to the hospital


37. Four persons John, Saurabh, Salim and Ratan are sitting in a courtyard at points 4
A,B,C and D. respectively as shown in Fig. 6.13. The Courtyard has been
divided into small squares by drawing equality spaced horizontal and vertical
lines. Taking OX and OY as the coordinate axes, answer the following
questions:
(i) Find the distance between the mid-points of AC and BD.

(ii) Identify the type of quadrilateral ABCD.

(iii) Find the area of ∆ ABC.

Find the perimeter of quadrilateral ABCD.

38. In a game of chance consisting of spinning an arrow which comes to rest 4


pointing a one of the numbers 1, 2, 3,., 20 (see Fig.) and these are equally likely
outcomes. Three persons Aarushi, Avni and Mira decide to play the game.
Aarushi wins ₹5000 if the arrow points at an even number. Mira wins ₹8000 if
the arrow points at an odd number Mira and Avni wins ₹12,000 when arrow
points at a prime number.

Based on the above information answer the following questions:


(i) What is the percentage of Aarushi winning ₹5000?

(ii) What are the chances of all three winning their prizes?

(iii)Find the probability of getting an even or a prime number.

Find the probability of getting an odd and a prime number.
