Dear prof.

Lukasz Ciesla

I hope this mail meets you in good time.

My name is Ayomide Kehinde. I hold a bachelor’s dergree in Microbiology from Babcock

University, Nigeria and graduated with a CGPA of 39.5/5.00. I am interetsed in working in your
laboratory for my graduate studies because of my broad intest in molecular biology.

I have perused your laboratory page and a number of your papers and i was particularly captivated
by your research areas on “ Herbal medicine and Drug discovery programs from natural
matrices”. I admire your knowledge and focus on identification of natural compounds. I read
through some of your articles, including your impressive work on "Thin-layer chromatography
coupled with biological detection to screen natural mixtures for potential drug leads" published in
(2015). I’m very much intrested in this area of research.

I have garned considerable research and work experience during my undergraduate years and from
my post-bachelor years. For my undergraduate project, I investigated the effect of antimicrobial
properties of cocus nucifera husk extract and carica papaya seed- mediated silver nanoprticle
against selected clinical isolates . This research gave me an insighht on how biosynthesized
nanoparticules can be used in the development of novel antimicrobial agents for a wide
biotechnological application. The main reason for using silver nanoparticules is that the have broad
variety of metabolites and can aid in the reduction of silver ions. They are also quicker than
microbes in synthesis.

I’m a very enthusiastic about working with you and your research team under you tutelage and
supervision in the Ciesla Lab . Hence, i would love to know if you are accepting graduate students
for Fall 2023 term.

Attached herewith are my resume and transcript for your perusal. Thanks, in anticipation of your
consideration as i patiently await your kind response.

Best regards,
Ayomide Kehinde
