PROCESS, MAP WRITING SAMPLES

Process

The provided diagram illustrates the process by which sugar is produced from sugar
cane.

Overall, the procedure consists of 7 main stages, commencing with the cultivation of
sugar cane and finishing with complete sugar product.

As can be seen from the drawing, sugar canes are initially grown on fields between 12
and 18 months until they are ready to be harvested, either mechanically or
manually. The sugar canes are then crushed in a grinder to separate juice from the
trees which is poured through a limestone filter to purify from any left particles in the
following step.

Once filtered, the juice is transferred to a large evaporator where it is heated by fire.
During this process, excessive water content is removed so that juice turns into syrup.
Having been separated from syrup by using a centrifuge, sugar crystals undergo the
final step involving drying and cooling to form the finished sugar.

The provided diagram illustrates the process by which plastic bottles are recycled.

Overall, it is noticeable that the cyclical procedure consists of 9 stages, commencing

with the collection of unused bottles from residents and finishing with the complete
products for reusing purpose.

As can be seen from the drawing, the plastic bottles are initially collected from the
users in the garbage bin before being transferred to a garbage truck and delivered to
the recycling centre. In this stage, bottles are classified manually into two categories,
usable and unusable. Once selected, all bottles are compressed into big blocks and
crushed into small pieces by a grinder to drop into a clear washing tank.

Having been washed, the pieces are moved to a machine where the production of
plastic pellets is started. These plastic pellets are subsequently heated to transform into
the raw material. Finally, the raw materials are packaged for later use to produce the
recycling items such as bottles, pencils, clothes, bags, etc.
Maps
The provided pictures illustrate the transformation that took place in a trade conference during two
different years, 2009 and 2010.
Overall, it is noticeable that this area saw some significant changes which include the replacement of an
exhibition area for a concert hall and a meeting room.
In 2009, the registration was situated between the two entrance gates in the north, with the main in the
west and the sub in the other side. There was a balcony located in the southeast corner of the map, next to
a small exhibition area. To the west of the map, a concert hall with was beside a meeting room, and the
space in front of the concert hall was occupied by a display area.
While the northern part of the conference remained unchanged in the following year, there was some
significant rearrangement in other areas. To be specific, a lounge area was added in the balcony, whereas
the old exhibition area was replaced by a concert room next to an additional registration. The concert hall,
meeting room, and display area were all diminished, making room for a new larger exhibition area.

The provided pictures illustrate the development that take place in Southwest Airport in the next year.
Overall, it is noticeable that this airport witnesses some significant changes which include the addition of
more facilities and a number of gates.
The location of the departure and arrival entrances is the same but there is a plan to build additional
doors. The leaving area now has only a check-in on the left side and a café opposite. In the future, the
check-in will be relocated to the right to make room for a bag drop while the café will move to the bottom
left-hand corner. In the arrival section, the expansion at the southeast corner will allow people to have a
place to park their ca,r and one more coffee shop and ATM will be erected.
Security, passport control and customs will be unchanged, however, the passengers will have a chance to
visit shops near the security and passport control. In stead of having to walk a long distance to reach their
gate, clients will experience a long sky train. The most striking change lies in the construction of 10 more
gates in two more corridors, raising the total number of gates to 18.
