    The line graphs illustrate the changes people in one country used three machine

    categories in theis house and the amount of time they spent on household chores
    from 1919 to 2020.
    Overall, it is clear that when the proportion of households utilizing all types of
    machines rose significantly, the time for housework saw a noticeable fall.
    In 1920, families employing washing machine and vacuum cleaner stood at around
    40% and 30 % respectively while the advent of refrigerator was almost zero. Over
    the next 40 years, the usage of all 3 types of machines experienced a considerable
    rise to 70% for both washing machine and vacuum cleaner, and 90% for fridge. By
    2019 the percentage of residents using refrigerator and vacuum cleaners had gone
    up to 100% while the figure for washing machine almost remained unchanged.
    Regarding time allocated on housework, 50 hours was put on this work per week
    initially, which then gradually decreased to 20 hours in 1960. By 2019, the time
    amount was only 10 hours per week on domestic chores.
