REACTION
I agree with the presenter that the trends in education will surely change because of the
pandemic. This crisis paved the way for online and digital learning. The online platform may
also force teachers to change how they teach. They might find it challenging to change how they
approach lesson plans to ensure that the students remain engaged even while they cannot see the
instructor in person.

REALIZATION
I realize how online learning and gadgets affect the reliability of the present generation.The
learners today are so impatient, they want faster ways of things and so their attention span
decreases. This change in attention trends also has a tremendous impact on how instructors
adjust their classes and keep students engaged with the material. Teachers need to find ways to
design classes that will catch the attention of their students, many of whom will fall into this
Millennial generation, and adapt the course delivery method and pace. Their course design will
need to remember the importance of a strong narrative and visuals.

REFLECTION
As technology has grown, it has also changed how teachers relate to their students and their
classrooms. With a wealth of information at their fingertips, students today have the tools they
need to uncover a tremendous amount of facts and knowledge independently. In this
environment, many students value less of a top-down delivery method. Instead, teachers now
function more in a facilitative role. Their job has slowly evolved into a position where they help
students understand how to learn, to love learning, and how to uncover and understand the
information they find.

REACTION
I am deeply troubled about what the Philippines could be in the years to come after the strike of this COVID-19 on
our economy. Philippine GDP growth contracted 10% in the first three quarters of the year and there's little hope of
a big turnaround in 2021. Meaning to say, our government again loaned a lot of money in the world bank and the
future generation will continue paying for it through the taxes and the inflation rate continue to rise. Another thing,
there are an estimated 700,000 unwanted pregnancies in 2021 that will surely add up to poverty.

REALIZATION
I realized how hard could be our education sector stands in the middle of the Pandemic. Since the government
suggested online learning and further alternative modes, we cannot sill implement the system because of some
concerns. And it all comes down to two major concerns: Internet connectivity, and the issue of the curriculum and
educational materials that have to be adapted for use with a blended learning environment. Access to educational
materials through the Internet isn’t worth much if the Internet itself is inaccessible due to lack of service or network
infrastructure. Be it through provisions for budget, equipment, and commercial access to the Internet much has to be
done to improve digital connectivity throughout the country.

REFLECTION
Covid 19-pandemic shaken our country’s economy. During the long lockdown, public transport was curtailed and
inter- travel prevented, disrupting domestic value chains. Even after the lockdown began to ease in June, excessive
permits were required and rules were not uniformly implemented across islands. Getting the economy back on track
will be difficult given that infections continue to rise. I am reflecting now on how can we handle this worldwide
crisis? Big countries admit that they struggle now because of recession how much more for us in the third world
country. May God help our leaders and each citizen to keep their hopes in these challenging times of pandemic.

REACTION
The COVID-19 crisis is changing the educational landscape, often in unpredictable ways. It’s tough to
know exactly what the upcoming school year will look like, but by keeping up on current trends in the
educational sphere, you can return to school next year informed, whether you’re in a classroom or
teaching at a distance. While we don’t fully know what the 2020–2021 school year will look like yet, it’s
sure that taking care of your overall health and well-being will be essential for students, teachers, and
parents alike. You may want to include assignments that help students manage stress and make time for
your self-care as a teacher.

REALIZATION
As more technology is introduced into classrooms, we as teachers will have to take on the role of learner
just like their students. Technology is increasingly being seen as a positive tool that can be harnessed to
improve learning. The next step is for institutions to support faculty skillsets when it comes to engaging
students with the devices they already own through professional development and training.

REFLECTION
The term “21st-century learning” has been used to refer to abilities students must master, such as
problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and digital literacy. But because of Pandemic Crisis, I
agree with Maam Che and Sir Welliam that teachers today must be extra considerate for the students.
Teachers should choose the real world over the classroom. Students don’t learn to live or survive in a
classroom. They learn to survive in the real world so the concept of underground education challenges
educators in any walk of life to give students the tools with which to live and breathe in the world around
them. If the lesson must be taught, then teach it thinking of who they might become.

REACTION
I agree with the presenter that before improving the physical setups of schools and their facilities,
the education department should also look into the needs of their workforce, the teachers.
Teaching has often been referred to as the “most notable of all professions.” To many teachers,
however, the noble image of their profession has been transformed into an illusion. Over the last
three decades, we have come to think of Filipino teachers as overworked and underpaid
professionals.

REALIZATION
I realize that multiple factors have led to low educational standards. Studies and fact-finding
commissions have shown that the deteriorating quality of education is due to the low government
budget for education; poor quality of teachers; poor management of schools; poor school
facilities such as laboratory and library facilities; poor learning environment; the content of the
curriculum; inadequate books and science equipment; the poor method of instruction; shortages
of classrooms; and others.

REFLECTION
Despite some persisting issues in the educational, the future of the education sector in the
Philippines looks promising. If the sector continues to be prioritized in national spending plans,
one can expect to see more programs from the government aimed at improving the quality of
provision and infrastructure. K-12 reform should yield graduates who are better prepared for
employment, higher education, or entrepreneurship.

REACTION
AMBISYON NATIN 2040 is a representation of the collective long-term vision and aspirations of the Filipino
people for themselves and the country for the next twenty-five years. It describes the kind of life that people
want to live, as well as how the country will look by 2040. As such, it will serve as an anchor for development
planning across at least four (4) administrations. What is planning if the implementation is being halted? The
Philippine Development Plan is so good but the implementation will be the secret for its success.

REALIZATION
The farmers lack support, training, and a morale boost. First, they lack basic skills in farming. Many are not
educated or are only elementary graduates. Second, good fertilizers, pesticides, and seeds are imported from other
countries, making them very expensive and unaffordable for the lowly farmer. Third, the government has not
developed a good infrastructure for farmers.
REFLECTION
I am extending my worry for the agriculture of the country. Agricultural land is being developed into industrial
areas, shopping malls, and subdivisions. Farmers are growing old and their children have shifted into other careers.
The agriculture industry has not progressed in ages. Many of our agricultural schools are producing office-oriented
workers who would much rather do the paperwork than help improve the agricultural sector of the country. Not to
mention the many horror stories of corruption at the Department of Agriculture.
