USA as per CTI certication standard STD-201.

range of cooling towers is also CE certied,
ensuring the quality control and workmanship standards. All our products are ASHRAE 90.1 compliant which is a requisite
for LEED certication for Green Buildings by the IGBC (Indian Green Building Council of India).

Overview
Our DFC-60UX range of cooling towers are CTI certified. MANUFACTURER'S PUBLISHED THERMAL

assurance of thermal performance, a guarantee that the cooling tower will 98-14-72
perform as expected.

CTI developed the CTI-STD-201 standard or “Certication Standard for Commercial Water-Cooling Towers”. STD-201
standard certies that all models, in a line of cooling towers offered by a manufacturer, will perform in accordance with the
manufacturer’s published ratings. Basically, it validates the information in the manufacturer catalogues, and provides the
customer, assurance that the cooling tower will perform as represented in the catalogues. CTI is dedicated to promote the
truthful rating of cooling towers capability. Having CTI certication in advance, eliminates the need for costly onsite eld
tests, and ensures system performance to meet the design objectives

Cooling Tower Description

DFC-60UX series is a vertical Induced draft Counter-ow cooling Tower in glass bre reinforced plastic construction in
square/ rectangular shape, complete with fan, motor, surface, spray sections, and eliminators.

Casing & Structure

Casing is made out from high quality glass bre-reinforced plastic (FRP) with smooth surface nish for minimum resistance
to airow. It has sufcient structural strength to adequately withstand high wind velocities of 60 m/sec and vibrations.The
tower supporting structure is made out of hot dipped galvanized steel. Optionally Pultruded FRP structure (Without basin)
is also available for highest corrosion resistance and durability.

Inlet Louvers
Louvers are made of high quality glass bre-reinforced
plastic (FRP) and given a proper slope. Spacing of the
louvers is arranged in such a fashion that water loss is
prevented. Further louver designprovides uniform
distribution of air with minimum pressure drop.

Cold Water Basin
The Cold water basin is of minimum 200 mm depth and
made of FRP, which is an integral part of cooling tower
panels. The basin is complete with outlet, overow, and
quick-ll and drain connections of adequate sizes.

Fills
Fills are made of virgin rigid PVC sheets which are vacuum
formed in shape and design of a honey comb structure.
The honeycomb structure ensures even distribution of
water to achieve maximum heat transfer surface with
minimum pressure drop for lowest fan energy
consumption.

Eliminator
Drift eliminators are made of extruded PVC in C design with
maximum drift loss of 0.005% of the design water ow
rate. The eliminator provides maximum efciency in drift
elimination at minimum power consumption.

Hot Water Distribution System

The hot water distribution system comprises of PVC
headers located at sides of cooling tower and which are
connected to an array of horizontal PVC branch pipes
through vertical droppers. These branch pipes are tted
with equally spaced Polypropylene splash caps to ensure
uniform distribution of water on the ll area.

Fan
Fan(s) are aerodynamic aerofoil axial type with low noise,
high efciency statically balanced. The fan blades are
made of cast aluminium alloy and are with individually
adjustable blade pitch angle. Optionally FRP blade is also
available. Fan is protected by a fan guard of galvanized
steel construction to prevent birds from nesting during
idling period & shall be easily accessible for inspection and
maintenance.

Fan Cylinder
Fan cylinder is designed and manufactured from glass
bre-reinforced plastic (FRP) moulded to provide a large
air entry area , smooth approach to the fan and close tip
clearances for maximum efciency and reduced operating
costs.

Motor
Motors are TEAO (Totally enclosed Air Over) weather
proof, squirrel cage induction type located in the air
stream. Motor is with IP-55 enclosure, Class F insulation
and of high efciency class IE3/IE2 (OEM choice). A service
ladder (GI construction) is also provided for greater
convenience.
