Vacation Project

We are going to plan our dream vacations. You are going to have to stick to
a budget and determine how you will spend your money. You have a budget
of $5000 dollars; Your vacation must be at least 5 days and 4 nights but it
can be longer if you would like and you will start your vacation on October
28th, 2023.

Your vacation plan must include:

- Your location
- A place to stay
- A daily meal plan
- Activities to do each day (at least one activity per day but you may
choose to have more than one if it fits your budget)
- A mode of transportation to get to your destination and to travel when
you are there.

You must fill out the pages included in the project. You will fill out the Budget
page; The meal plan page; and the information page. You also must create
some type of graph to visualize how you spent your money.

First, choose your destination: ____________________________

How far from your hometown: ____________________________

How many time zones away from you is it? _____________________

Now, research all of the costs involved in your vacation. Make sure to
be specific and include all of the taxes and fees in each category.

Vacation Math
Problem Solving

Please show your work. Use diagrams, charts and calculations.

1. On the second day of your vacation, you need to receive an important

phone call at 2 pm from your hometown. What time will it be where
you are on vacation?

2. Your suitcase can only weigh 20 kg. Do the math on the following
chart, and decide what you would remove:

Your Suitcase

Item Weight for 1 Number packed Total

Outfits 0.7 kg 10 ….

Shoes …. 4 3.6 kg

Books 0.5 kg …. 3.0 kg

Electronics 1.2 kg 3 ….

Toiletries …. 8 4.8 kg

TOTAL ….

I would remove:
8

3. Determine the fraction in the simplest form of the meal costs over the
total amount spent.

4. The total passenger in the airplane is 225 people. Each row has 6
seats. Determine how many rows are there at most and how many
seats are vacant?

5. If one person needs to spend $1200 for this vacation, how many
people can join the vacation if the budget is only $5000? The rest of
the money will be distributed evenly for pocket money, calculate how
many dollars of pocket money will each person receive?
